On DP's report that a Wild Card team will be added in each conference, NFL says no decision made. Would have to be voted on by owners...

To this point it hasn't been presented to them. Of course, it could be at May meeting. DP may have inside info that enough votes are there

The only reason why the NFL is considering doing this is for extra revenue.  Making the game flag football and making the season last all year is what this Commissioner wants, thank goodness he is gone after this year but is his replacement much better?? KEEP POUNDING!

i would image (based on the current format) the first big change would be the number 1 seed would be the only team with a bye week. the number 2 seed would play the bottom ranked wild card team..

Horrible idea. I don't care if it lets us get in at 8-8 at some point, I don't freaking want to see 8-8 wild card teams. In the god-awful AFC you would have two 8-8 wild cards this year alone!

It's a start.  There is no reason a team that finishes 11-5 should miss the playoffs while a team at 9-7 or worse makes the playoffs as a Division winner.
