Time to Revisit the Harbaugh Versus Rivera Discussion

Harbough is still a douchebag. I just don't necessarily agree with Ron's mantra at times. "We need to calm down" really? That's your adjustment? It's difficult to say if he's the answer.. but the team clearly respects him. To which I can't be upset with.

He needs more talent before a fair trial. I'd like to see what Harbough do with Ted Ginn, Lafell and our mix and match o-line.

He couldn't do poo with Ginn when we had him. The fact that Ginn is our big play threat yet couldn't get a game playing for the QB guru Harbaugh shows the gulf in talent.

This team is a working progress headed in the right direction.

Rivera makes the occasional bonehead decision, like begging the team to calm down at halftime. But he has had success with far less talent than Harbaugh. The 49ers are absolutely stacked at every position, and Harbaugh still needs to be spotted 20 points to compete with Rivera.

See this place next year. Bad enough that we lost the game, and the crying here and excuses are beyond ridiculous. We lost that game ourselves with silly personal fouls and untimely penalties. The 4th down and goal failed conversion really hurt. Then Cam could have scored on a second and goal designed sweep but turned it inside instead of waltzing into the endzone untouched.

Keeping Smitty in the game in the second half was just dumb. The guy gave us all he had and they should have pulled him and put in a healthy Hixon. Cam taking those two sacks and being forced to punt when he should have taken off on that 7 min drive killed us. I don't put thàt in him. Shula over utilized his mobility in the first half for no reason when he had all the momentum to continue ripping that D apart. Shula is a moron!

Finally, we just lost a game that we should have win easily. A young team made mistakes that are indicative of that lack of playoff experience. I really felt that this squad could have gone all the way. I had already manifested all of the Super Bowl week interviews in my head. Unfortunately it just wasn't meant to be. Hopefully we get better in FA and the draft and our Defense can stay healthy next year. We do that and I think we can be the first team to win this Division in back to back years.

Until next year gentlemen

Some people here really are clueless. Do they grow top notch head coaches on trees that just wait to get hired after an opening? I'm out of the Huddle for a while if there are threads questioning a guy that will likely win coach of the year.

We lost when it counted. They're going to the conference championship game for the third straight year.

Where do you stand on this now?

Are you confident in Rivera going forward? What percentage would you put on his job security going into next season?

I think this is stupid in all honesty, Rivera has done well with us this season, and got this team to out perform it's talent.  this team had serious short coming on offense, like bottom 10 in the league bad talent wise, and then we go with a conservative game plan, if you know you are out gunned talent wise you are not going to win playing Mr. Conservative but that's on the OC.

It's a conversation to be had because they were available the same year and were hired the same year. Rivera seemed to turn a corner this season, but as it has been said, he still makes some boneheaded decisions and some of the stuff he allows to go on (Shula), are still an issue.

Do you really want such a classless coach who up by 2 touchdowns with 23 seconds left on the opponents 40 yard line attempt a fake punt in order to try and score again. That was the most classless move I have ever seen. Even worse that Schiano telling his dline to attack when the opponent is taking a knee to run out the last 10 seconds of an un-winnable game.
