Which Player Do You Not Want Back Next Season

Bell is a serviceable backup with a few years experience. He can be had on the cheap and serve as great competition in camp. I'm pretty done with LaFell as well. I have a feeling we draft multiple receivers or even bring in one in free agency that can be more productive and can be had cheaper. I like LaFell but have a feeling he believes he is worth more than he is. If he played consistently average I would like him back; trouble is...he literally disappears for a true #2 receiver.

lol

“After watching myself on film, I figured they would bring someone else in” said Bell, who majored in university studies (wtf) at New Mexico.  ”You know, to at least push me for the starting job.  But I guess they didn’t feel like it was a priority.  I can’t believe they’re paying me to suck.”

Bell isn’t alone in the sentiment.  Offensive line coach John Matsko also feels like Bell is getting paid just to stand on the right side of Cam Newton during Sunday afternoons.

Yeah, I don't get the Lafell hate. He might not be great but he's a decent 3 or 4. Not his fault he's asked to be a 2.

And how many other teams would give a damn if their 3rd or 4th WR resigned with them? There is so much talent out there via the draft and FA that if this team had given a damn about getting a WR at any point between 2004 and now we wouldn't even notice Lafell leaving.

Simple. J-Stew's contract makes him essentially untouchable. He'll be a Panther in 2014.

My vote? LaFell. Bell at least provides solid depth.

Dwill contact is not that great either cutting him would leave us with a lot i think around 5 mill of dead money but if we cut him and Stew cant stay healthy we double screwed

wow really?  lafell over Bell? u guys think hes that bad?

Yes he's regressed. Terrible separation. Too many dropped passes and tipped passes that turn into picks

I actually dont understand the hate for Bell as if Cam hasn't had plenty of time to do things in the pocket. Not all of our sacks where on oline. Those 2 sacks I believe in the 3rd Cam held on the ball too long. Why? Waiting for someone to get open

Any time your new sports writer call you out for not stepping up, it's time to go

lafell an Bell are backup players.  Lafell's contract is up and may not be resighned.  We will bring in another WR in the draft either 1st or 2nd round.

We know Smitty has said he will return next season, but we shouldn't put it on his back to be No. 1.  Our O-line is a patchwork because of injuries.

Gettleman will upgrade our line next year.  Shula will be on the hot seat just like Rivera was this year.   He will improve or be gone.  I look forward to next year. We have a strong young group that had their first taste of the playoffs and it left them mad.  We will improve,

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
