Recommended Posts

The largest cap hit this year was CJ at 8.7. TD was next at 6.8

Next year, we (Dave)has some real work to do

Johnson 16.4 (good googly moogly)

Kalil 10.4

Olsen 7.4

Godfrey 7.1

Cam 7

Smitty 7

Williams 6

* Beason - 8

Stewart's makes my head hurt....look at what the dead money projects as

11.5 million dollars tied up in two running backs who combined barely have over 1000 yards rushing. That's a bit of a headache.

Looks like if we are 12 million under now and roll another 12 million this year forward we could have around 25 million to spend. Guys like Godfrey will be a big question. Do we keep him with a 7 million cap or make him a June 1st cut and eat a few million in dead cap space. I don't know how much more dead cap space we want to incur since it is pretty high already. I guess it depends who of the 1 year contract guys we want to resign and who we think under contract underperformed.

We've got roughly 16 million in cap space right now.

That will roll over a bit, not sure how much, depends on how much the cap rises.

Cutting Godfrey w/ a June 1 designation free's up 5million this season and 2 million next.

Moves us up to 21 Million.

DWill could be June 1 designated and we would gain 2mill (unsure if this is correct)

I believe several other small contracts come off the books as well.

CJ, Olsen, and Kalil can have things done to alter their cap impacts.

When all is said and done we will likely have around 24-34  million to play with.

We still need to pay for a good LT, RT, RG, and only one WR is on the books. Also, none of our secondary this year is even accounted for.....none are under contract.

So once you simply field a respectable team and get starters that will take a nice chunk of that cap space.....it isn't just room to improve. We have tons do starters this year are set up to walk
