1st: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU

I think our top-2 needs are well established. That being said, it'll come down to the best value out of OL & WR and I think if Odell Beckham is on the board at 28 we should jump all over him. I admit, up until the last few weeks I wasn't as familiar with Beckham as I am now. The more I've looked into this guy, the more I love what I've seen. He's not the biggest guy, but he's not 'short' either. He's got great speed and runs great routes. Most important, though, dude flat-out makes plays.

2nd: JuWuan James, OT, Tennessee

Projecting who will and won't be on the board at the end of the 2nd round is tough. There are several good options we'll likely have to choose from in this scenario and JuWuan James is one of them. He could step in day-one and be an upgrade over Byron Bell at right tackle and - assuming we re-sign Gross - take over at left tackle after Gross finally retires.

3rd: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska

The trend towards big corners means SJB could be gone before this pick, but for the moment this seems to be his range. I like the possibilities with him and Melvin White as our long-term starting corner duo.

4th: Trevor Reilly, DE, Utah

If we lose Greg Hardy we'll need to add some depth at DE. I feel like we'll be good with Addison starting, but we will need to replace him in the rotation, preferably with someone who has good upside to develop into a starter down the road. Utah's Trevor Reilly fits in this scenario.

5th: Brandon Linder, OG, Miami

We address tackle in the 2nd round and get some depth - and hopefully a potential future starter - in the mid-rounds in Miami's Linder. If nothing else, he should prove to be good depth.

6th: Crockett Gillmore, TE, Colorado State

We need a solid #2 TE who can do it all. Gillmore is a big guy (6'6, 260) and would be a great red zone target for Cam. He's also a good blocker. Just what we need in a 2nd TE.

7th (f/NYG): Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma

Before he tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl Colvin was a projected 2nd-3rd round pick. He likely won't be able to play as a rookie, but once he gets healthy he could prove to be a steal if we can grab him in the 7th if he slips due to the injury.

Love it. This would be an A Draft in my book. Not as high on Jean-Baptiste as some, but in the late third he could be good value. I've got OBJ as the second best WR in the draft, so getting him at 28 is a steal. Really big fan of James too. Honestly think he could end up better than Tiny.

OBJ would be great here.  The more I watch Beckham, Landry, D. Adams, and Robinson the more I get pumped.  

 

Newton to Beckham has a nice ring to it.  Plus he catches kickoffs with one hand.  :)

 

Nice draft mon!...although I think we could use another weapon in rounds 3-5.

I like the draft, especially the first two picks.  I think Baptiste is going to be pretty good but I personally like Pierre Desir over him (based on general and likely skewed observation so take this with many grains of salt) for the same position if he is available.

 

Also like the TE in the late rounds and Colvin could turn into a good player if the injury heals.

Nice draft.

 

Loves Odell Beckham Jr. The kid and his teammate Landry are both solid route runners with very good hands. Think the kid is going to light it up at the combine.

 

I'm not sure if I would take James that high in the 2nd round, but in a real draft this is how it goes.

 

I'm not sold on Jean Baptiste yet. If we're drafting him as a "safety", I'm fine with that. I just dont believe all the hype around the tall corners. In the last year or two, it seems like everyone tall cb is compared to Browner and Sherman, and I havent seen anything yet.

 

Would love to get Reilly in the 4th, but most sites are projecting him to go earlier than the 4th.

yeah beckham looks great some say he's victor or percy clone. he also high points balls better than i expected and has great speed. i dont know if he is really short for a wr because alot of wr are around that height.(like marvin harrison)

 

not many wr with great height are tearing the league except calvin and few others.

 

but good mock anyways.

good with the first pick as the WR thing will sort itself out starting this weekend.

 

2nd rounder looks like a bit of a reach at this point (with what we know at this point)

3rd rounder might end up being a safety in the NFL but tall CB  would be nice.

 

Rest is good

 

Not sure a CB with all the twists and turns required will be the same after blowing out knee.  hate it for Colvin, but 7th is a good risk

      When the panthers are bad, we sell a shockingly low number of jerseys, and options become limited. In the good years, we had a lot of different options. I think T-Mac is going to have to play well on the field for his jersey to get produced in the FUSE template.

      it's not the only way to be a threat, it's certainly important for certain roles in an offense and for certain type players and offenses.  as is the ability to get open quickly and generate easy throws.   as far as Renfrow goes, I have consistently said he is sort of his own thing and not really in comp w/ others here.  It's a niche role/job.  Anyone talking about something else from him isn't me.  Just depends if we want to do what he does and if he can still do it.  as far as AT goes, yeah, he does lower our ceiling given the % of our offense that goes through him and his limitations at this stage in his career.    He should be a roleplayer, much like Renfrow should be if we want to insert what he does into the O....not an O being run through him.    Renfrow isn't going to lower the ceiling if used correctly.  Niche assignments to move chains.   It's like a short yardage RB that comes in to pick a random play.  Renfrow is best at that 3rd and 4 type scenario IMO. AT lowers the ceiling because we build the pass game off an old WR that shouldn't be the focal point of a pass attack.  Not to mention, Bryce Young is practically tailor made to get the ball in the hands of YAC players.   So you need those type on the field.
