Panthers very interested in OT Brandon Thomas

I love this time of year. Everyone gets super excited because of tape measures, bathroom scales, and stopwatches. Also known as "Al Davis Syndrome".

lol aren't you one of the posters who viciously attacked anyone who liked arguably the best WR prospect in last year's class in keenan allen because his 40 time was "slow"...?

The panthers did reach for kugbilla though. So if he's projected 5th or 6th. I'm worried the panthers may reach.

A reach by what standard? Preliminary? Kugbila hasn't even played a down in a regular season game yet. Draft discussions are over. Now it is about production. He could end up as anything from a bust to a hall of famer at this point. No one has a clue.

I wouldn't worry about "reaching." Gettleman has already stressed that his tactic is BPA. Plus I would rather take a chance on a reach in the 4th than in Rounds 1-3.

Viciously attacked? LOL!!!

Did I have serious concerns after he ran a time most TEs would be disappointed in? Absolutely!

I didn't want him in the 2nd because of it and told everyone there was no way he'd go in the 2nd. He didn't. If the draft was done over, he would've probably gone in the 1st.

IMO, the value of the combine is to validate what the game tape shows. Is that guy really as fast as he looks? Do we need to go back and re-evaluate a guy because the numbers didn't line up with what we saw? But, measuring out well does not make a guy a football player, it makes him an athlete. When a guy looks fast on film and then runs fast in workouts, you can safely assume he is fast. When film makes you question a guy's speed and then he runs slow, you can safely assume he is slow. I was wrong about Keenan Allen, but he is the exception, not the rule and that slow 40 is why he went in the 3rd round. Had he ran in the 4.5s he would've likely been a high 2nd rounder.

    • so the current Carolina Panthers are a team that is in a similar situation that the 2022 Carolina Panthers were in about this same time exactly 3 years ago. & after the 2022 season & missing the playoffs because of a last game of the season loss to the Tom Brady led Bucs  Carolina Panthers brass then thought hey you know what we are just a Qb away from taking that next step & becoming a playoff contender in 2023 .so of course that's what the Panthers proceeded to do when they traded up to the #1 overall pick in order todraft Bryce Young .& here is history repeating itself as it often does & the Carolina Panthers are once again in a close race at the end of the season with Tampa Bay for the NFCS title in 2025  it's took what 3 years now to get back to where we started to begin with prior to drafting Bryce Young  &so tell me once again who is really holding this team back ? ...just saying hRi
    • 1st ⭐️ (25 saves, 2 PP saves, 2 SH saves, 0.962 save%, 1 shot just off goal) 2nd ⭐️  (2 G, 1 A, 4 SOG, 1 BS, 1 dumb penalty, 47.4% FOW, 20:20 TOI, 1 drought ended) 3rd ⭐️  (1 G, 1 A, 4 SOG, 16:28 TOI)
    • Well, looking at it now I would agree that he should cede some of his power and focus on being a leader of an entire NFL program and becoming a better strategist. And leave the details of implementing that to the people he has hired to work under him.  But I am just some guy that gets his info 3rd hand and works off of incomplete info, using assumptions to draw conclusions.
