Bill Voth claims Jordan Gross is done

He CAN play tackle. Better than anyone on our roster if Gross goes. I don't particularly want him nor do I like him, I was just offering a possibility. He'll play somewhere, at an elite level.

Incognito is about as 'elite' as Byron Bell. I might give you 'good' - and even that's debatable - but definitely not 'elite'.

If he were really that good, teams would be willing to put up with his crap.

If true, I say we target both Anthony Collins and Geoff Schwartz in FA. Collins can play both LT & RT, Schwartz can play both OG and RT. They both graded out well on PFF and wouldn't break the bank. Collins didn't allow a sack in '13.

This would allow us to still go BPA without reaching for an OT. If we draft an OT that's ready to start, Collins can move to RT (or stay LT depending on the prospect). Schwartz could then bump down to challenge for starting spot at RG (or remain at RT if needed).

Versatility is the key.

And there it is.... Everyone thinks we're clearing space for Hardy when in reality we could be clearing space for a Tackle or at least O-line help.

This.

Let Hardy go...sign OT in FA and draft another in the first two rounds. Take WR with the other pick in the first two rounds.

I would love for this to happen. I'm not sure it will, but I would be ecstatic.

Yep. It's going to hurt losing Hardy, but the backup DE's are a hell of a lot better and more proven than the ones on the OL and the WR's. Protecting Cam takes precedent to bringing back the Kraken.

I hope like hell that it happens too, or something similar. I love OL that offer versatility.

I'd offer Collins a 3-year deal (maybe with a 4th year option) that averages 4 to 5 million per and give Schwartz a multi-year deal (which is what he's looking for after consecutives one years deals the last two off seasons) worth about 2 to 3 million per. I might even give Wharton a 1-year deal for depth.
