lol I don't pay any attention to the misinformed! relative question though with little to work with on restructures apart from CJ where is the space. coming from to sign all the players we need and a draft class?

I guess I have an assumption and a question.

 

Assuming that we were not even close to getting an agreement, otherwise, why go out there telling the world he is getting tagged.

 

Question is further to the early declaration of a tag.  Will Rosenhaus now be able to make calls about a trade and long term deal for his guy?

 

FA starts I think in about a week and a half.  Beyond Clowney, there is nothing in the draft anywhere close to Hardy, not even close. 

 

So why wouldn't Minnesota, or Oakland or whomever pony up some picks for a guy that would be hands down better than anything they could get in the draft?

Like others have said I'm really hoping Oakland comes to the table and trades their 1st round pick for Hardy.  Carolina could get a top notch LT and still have the #28 pick to get a WR, more OL, or hell a replacement for Hardy.  As good as Hardy is I don't think he's worth what he wants based on how many needs the Panthers have this offseason.

I'm really happy he's still going to be a part of the team next year. He's such an explosive player with an awesome personality. I'd hate to see him go period. Welcome back, Kraken!

I am not sure that is the case.

 

The Panthers will be in a lesser position to wrap up Hardy long term next year than they are this year. (Cam's contract)  This buys time, but I really do not get the feeling that this is the final solution.  The day started with reports that Hardy and the Panthers were negotiating a long term deal.  After a few hours, it is announced that he will be tagged.  Is that part of these negotiations, or did the negotiations reveal an unrealistic contract demand?  It would seem that we would wait until Monday if the negotiations were ongoing.  I might be way off base on this....

 

I still think they are looking to deal Hardy.  Giving his agent time to start soliciting and collecting trade offers.  I am basing this on the numbers alone.  There is often something you never see coming--like trading CJ instead--but with the variables we know to be in play, I think it is the only scenario that makes financial sense.  

 

This could go many directions.  What does everyone think?
