TCU CB Jason Verrett says he will work out for Carolina tomorrow.

TCU CB Jason Verrett will work out for the Panthers on Friday.
Verrett will undergo shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum shortly after. The 5'9/189 lbs cornerback has displayed excellent skills from the slot and the outside, attacking the catch point thanks to great vision, leaping ability, aggression and closing speed. He would be a great pickup if the Panthers cannot resign Captain Munnerlyn, who thrived as a slot corner and blitzer last year.Mar 6 - 1:10 PM

I just watched his tape on chuck's mock draft thread, and I'm game.  He might be BPA at a position we've needed for years and years and years.  We may go from a great defense to a dominant, all time defense.  I've been on the offense (TE/WR) bandwagon since we drafted Star and KK, but I do like this kid a lot.  Sucks we have to wait til May this year.  Sucks!

What round is he projected for? Very intriguing to me but you know our history with drafting players with injuries... If he's a 2nd or 3rd rounder or later, then I'd say yes please. But I don't want him in the 1st.

"This is a big man's game. I don't care what anybody says. The game's evolving, the style of play's evolving, but it's a big mans's game. Big men win, it's just the way it is. You look at Seattle and they've got heavy bodies up front, their linebackers are a little bit smaller, but that secondary's monstrous. It's a big man's game, don't let anybody tell you any different, and that's what we have to do."

    • PFF grades aren't based on total stats.  In their simplest form they are based on a player's ratio of good snaps to bad snaps. Evens is playing in about a third of the snaps.   Carolina Panthers 2025 Snap Counts | Pro-Football-Reference.com Warren is playing in over 80% of the snaps. Indianapolis Colts 2025 Snap Counts | Pro-Football-Reference.com If Evens is only playing 20 snaps and being asked to block on 18 of them and does a good job blocking on the majority of those and then catches his two targets his grade is going to be really good.  The team is using him in a limited role playing to his strengths.
    • IF they had 64 analyst that would be 2 per team.  One could take offense; one could take defense.  Roughly 100-150 plays a game, let's call it 140 that would be 70 plays each.  Coach's film has no downtime between plays so to watch 70 plays would take about 10 minutes.  Even if you watched each play 11 times to focus on each player thats 110 minutes, less than two hours. That leaves 22 more hours to really take your time.  Seems very doable.
    • Honestly it should warm the hearts of ALL Panthers fans knowing the Saints and Falcons organizations are just as big of poo shows as the Panthers (maybe even more)
