Fug a CB or any D player in the 1st.

Was having a discussion in the draft forum which led me to look up our loses.

In 5 of 6 loses we failed to score 14 points (4 of 6 failed to score more than 10).

We had an elite D with no name patch work CB's.

People can go on and on about the WR's we face, but none of that wont matter if we can't even score 21 points for christ sake.

We must fix our O this year. Which I doubt will happen with Shula calling plays.

CB is a luxury pick and I will be very disappointed if we do not go OL/WR with the first 3 picks.

If the value of DB outweighs that of WR/TE/OL in the 1st put me down. I have no problem having a CB that can slow down opposing WRs. Hell, I'd have no problem drafting Kyle Van Noy or Nix if they're the best value left on our big board.

Rabble! Rabble! Rabble!

Sorry, if the BPA is a corner or safety or linebacker or defensive end, then we take him. End of story. We're no different than The Seahawks, Niners, Chiefs, etc. Defense is our nucleus at the moment.

It's fine to have defense as your nucleus, but you can't completely ignore the offense to do it.  All of those teams have better offensive talent than we do.  Hell, the Niners probably have the best OL in football.  Cam Newton is the only thing that keeps us from having the worst offense in the NFL.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
