Mitchell, Ginn may hit the market

I mean compared to smith he was. There really want a consistent one at all last season. Hence why we were around bottom in the league in the big yardage per play department.

Steve was the only guy who could go one on one covered deep and make the play. I don't recall the other two doing it once

If we have to chose between the 2, go get Mitchell.

I heard that the Panthers and Ginn had a "verbal agreement".

Why does a reporter post a statement like "They could hit the free agent market."?  Who did not know that?

Think Ginn's big 37 yarder vs Saints. Both him in Lafell vs the Giants getting deep balls. Like I said not much overall but some. Smith was the most consistent catcher in general of the 3 but wasn't really tht much of a deep threat mainly due to double coverage

I recall hearing about the verbal agreement as well. I wonder if DG is just trying to see what kind of value they will draw before making an offer.

I think we are going to learn a lot more about Gettlemen this year---as much as I have heard the criticism of his methods, I note than most are based on an emotional attachment to players--In addition, I find his (expected) moves to be uncomfortably productive.

I am a fan.

Once again, The Huddle dives into hyperbole.

First of all, we had less than a million available last season. We have seven million available today. Second, nothing is finalized with Hardy. He could be traded for all we know. The smart money says Hardy's agent and G-Man are working on a long term contract.

So can we stopping acting like whiny little girls and let the front office work? Once again, it's fugging March. MARCH.

being traded is off the table @ this point so a lt deal is an absolute MUST

To be honest resigning these guys should only be a priority if it comes at a decent price. Ginn is good, but his real value last year was the talent he gave us at such a low price. Same for Mitchell.

We found two, good, cheap players last year, I don't see why it would be an impossible task to do it again. But don't get me wrong, I'd love to have both these guys back and losing them would hurt us some.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
