Smith Perspective: A Voth-man prophecy

I can tell you Marvin McNutt and Tavares King won’t be the only receivers. I can tell you Byron Bell won’t likely be protecting Cam Newton’s blindside. I can tell you Dave Gettleman had a lot less money and almost as many headaches last year at this time before he helped the Panthers get back to the playoffs.

This exactly.

yeah, funny how 90 percent of this forum was "Trust in Getty" 2 weeks ago

I'm not pissed that Steve Smith is getting cut, it's just how it all went down.  Gettleman could have just said "Steve has had a great career here in Carolina but the time has come to move on." and we would have been upset but at least he was a man and came out and said it.  Now he's just dangling him for trade bait and Steve had to hear his time in Carolina was probably up through social media.  The best player in Panthers history deserves better than that yankee garbage.

that's a fair point.  Still, in the end, the right thing is being done, and Getty is still on his learning curve,

    • If he was betting on other sports (hell, even other teams) I don't think he gets the blowback it got him. Making quite a large number of bets on team total unders and his individual prop unders is about as bad as it gets. Like honestly, the NFL/owners would rather you be a murderer or rapist than be betting unders on your own individual props... I still didn't see the talent to warrant a 1st round pick without the gambling scandal. With it, I think he might be a 4th or 5th rounder and would not be shocked if he is just straight blackballed by NFL organizations
    • I'm more curious if he can recover from his injury and still be a starting caliber olineman
    • Does this mean only topics from within the last year or any topics with posts from the last year? i.e. if there are any old threads we feel should be kept around for whatever reasons, would a bump of that thread before the update ensure it's kept around in full or do the posts from more than a year old still disappear?
