Saints sign Jairus Byrd

I would to.

But what if they don't win? The cap hell is gonna catch up down the line.

It will only really catch up to them if the cap doesn't rise like it is predicted to do.

Fact is, Loomis is a cap genius that consistently works to cap in the Saints favor year in and year out. They were 15mil over the cap prior to this off-season, still managed to retain Graham for at least another year, and now signed one of the best FAs available.

You idiots were saying the same thing last offseason

You, of all people, shouldn't be allowed to throw around the word "idiot".

Tomorrow is a new day - but as of 10:01 PM and I get ready to call it a night.....this has not been a very good day for the Panthers organization or their fans. Dollar Tree Dave most def took one on the chin today.

I don't get how all these teams have money to make FA splashes every year. Yet, the Panthers never sign anyone of notable significance but are always cap strapped. Mind blowing.

Hardy was our FA signing this year. Dumpster diving from dollar tree Dave from here on out.

Its all relative.

We kept a 15 sack DE, Tampa signed a 3.5 sack DE, ATL signed one with 4.

Tampa signed Verner but are going to cut Revis, i'll take that trade.

We still technically have Smitty, there is still hope for those out there.

keep saying the same thing. the cap can be manipulated to however you want it to, and you can make room for whoever you want. every year, team after team shows this, but yet still the panthers just sit back and wait. the other signings didnt bother me, but this one does. the saints had less money ava. then the panthers but was yet to get a huge signing in Byrd.

You do realize that they signed Byrd knowing that they are mortgaging their future because Brees only has a couple of seasons left in him right? The Panthers aren't in the same situation as the Saints. IF they are going to win, they HAVE to win now.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
