Blood and Guts

I think it's sad not because he is gone but because we never got to win a Super Bowl with him. It is the fate of a majority of great players, but it still hurts that it will never happen. I think it hurts even more because next year may have been the year and we were on the brink last year.

Love Smitty but Flacco will not have enough time to get him the ball against us...UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!!  Bring it!

Against our secondary? Just throw it up in his general direction.

He'd probably jump over White, catch the ball, then mush him to the ground, run it to the 1 yard line, hand the ball to Dockery, then pick Dockery up and slam him to the ground  while stripping the ball back away from him, then pick the ball back up and walk into the endzone for a TD.

Then for the fans, give the ball to Cam on the sideline to give to a kid in the stands... Smitty love the kids!

So it begins.

i love steve smith. he's my favorite player of all time. but this quote tells us one of two things:

(1) 5 catches for 61 yards is the new blood and guts

or,

(2) it isn't and steve smith wasn't playing for blood and guts with us, he was playing for stats and a comfy retirement.

either way it was time, and i've come to terms with it.

"“I want to make sure that whatever team I go to, they’re going to get the best, in shape 35-year-old guy they can get. If that happens to run through Bank of America Stadium, put your goggles on cause there’s going to be blood and guts everywhere,” Smith said." - PFT
