James Jones is literally the only decent FA receiver left

Sidney Rice? No

Santonio Holmes? No

Miles Austin? No

Kenny Britt? No

Lance Moore? God no

I would have taken Brandon f'ing LaFell over all 5 of these guys. So what I'm saying is that this offense is utterly, hopelessly screwed. James Jones, a receiver only marginally better than LaFell imo, might as well be Jesus Christ himself for this team. If we miss out on him TOO?

BEST case scenario would be ending up with James Jones and Brandin Cook as our 1 and 2 next year with scrubs filling out the rest. That's WORSE than our group was in 2013...and that group was pretty bad.

We will find out who was bad when we see how everyone does in their new homes.it may shine a light closer to home.

How are we gonna swing that with starters still needed on the offensive line and secondary? Also: Cotchery and Manningham are garbage.

Manningham has been dealing with injuries, so he'd be a wild card, but Cotchery had 10 TD's last year in Pittsburgh. Paired with a couple high round rookies...

Not saying it'd be ideal, but if we hit on a couple solid receivers in the draft we could make due.

I can only come up with three reasonable scenarios as to what Gettleman is thinking on the WR front.

1. He believes that the WR draft class is so amazing that it's worth going into the draft with no proven WRs on the roster.

2. He's waiting for the market to dry up, then pick up the remaining guy(s) at bargain prices and hope they have something to prove a la Ginn.

3. Plans to make a trade for a guy like Blackmon, or wait until final cuts to find a proven vet. (unlikely)

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
