The Future of Carolina's WR Core

I am firmly in the camp of letting the professionals do their job and not judge too harshly because it's still March.

It is a little disconcerting how badly we've whiffed on our WRs. Not even going to into the Smith debacle, Ginn was expected, LaFell was a complete surprise, and good riddance to Nicks. Hopefully we can get a guy like Jason Avant, a solid pro who can help mentor our young guys.

To do so, Gettleman is going to have to pay them more than vet minimum. I think Godfrey is going to get cut on June 1st to get those savings to keep us under the cap.

I really can't wait until preseason to see how King and McNutt play. Oh and whoever else we draft. There's no hiding it, we're going after WRs.

'Ive been doing some more research and insight into these guys since they will be here next year. McNutt in particular is a very intriguing WR. The guy is big a hair under 6'3, with size and strength to get the ball and block downfield. He was projected to be a solid possession Receiver at the next level and has great hands as we all saw with his circus almost catch. Maybe Gettleman really thinks this guy has something, he would know better than us I presume. King is the opposite of Mcnutt, very fluid, quick with shakier hands. King is a virtual unknown being that he was a rookie last year, we pretty much picked up an extra 5th rounder from the broncos for free. The packers tried to steal him but failed when Denver put him on the roster. He was then cut to make room for Von miller and was picked up by us. Obviously we weren't the only ones who saw something in him as the Packers did also. Guess were gonna find out what these guys have next year, but just because we don't know there names doesn't mean they don't have talent, they are in the NFL for a reason.

Being excited about UDFA No. 1 and No. 2 receivers on an NFL roster?

Gettleman's loving this. He doesn't have to do anything but sit on his ass, be a dickhead to players, get his bluff called by agents and be worshipped on here for doing absolutely nothing positive for this franchise other than extending Rivera's deal.

Nothing postive? Are people just going to ignore this team going 12-4 last season, the season right after gettleman becomes gm?

Starting WR1: UDFA

Starting WR2: UDFA

Charlotte native who wanted to catch passes from Cam, meets Gettleman: Signs with Colts

Best player in franchise history, heart and soul of team: Released

Biggest non-Incognito douchebag in NFL, used to cheapshot heart and soul of team: Signed

Three starting OL retire: replaced by _____________

Maybe some of you can enjoy a 5-11 season following a 12-4 season where we were trending upward, but I have a hard time keeping my head that far up Gettleman's ass. This isn't a shot at you, I'm just saying.

Gettleman failed this offseason to provide us with the talent we need. From here, it's praying unproven rookies and more UDFAs can somehow replace the talent we've lost, or else we're back to "evaluating talent" by October when we're 3-8.

One thing's for sure: I'm not blaming Rivera for the incoming shitstorm of a season we'll have. This one is on Dave Gettleman.

If you read the zod post in the main forum, it should address most of your concerns.

If you want to bitch, you will find something to bitch about.

If you want to be positive, well, that one's a little harder.

So to me. Being rosey takes more effort. I guess that's why there are so many voicing their displeasure. It is easier than looking for something to be happy about.

The ONLY player we lost that we absolutely could use this year is Smitty.

WE HAVE NO MONEY. Does that need to be said at the top of each page? Kids, Madden, and Fantasy Football have taken this game down the pits. Everyone thinks they know best. And when things go bad, or even appear to go bad, they jump in all guns blazing. You do not automatically deserve a winning team. Just because you are a fan does not give you unalienable rights.

We finally have a football guy in charge. But even that isn't good enough for most of you.

We had enough money to franchise Hardy, tender Bell, sign Gano, Anderson, Brockel, Williams, Russell, Harper, and whatever that TE's name was.
