Should we trade up to grab a high rank WR?

this is assuming we seek a rookie WR to be our #1 or 2. I hear we have interest in Brandin Cooks but cloning Smitty should not be our focus. His tapes prove him to be fast and shifty which is nice but upgrading for the future and finding that type WR we've never had should be key imo. So should we grab a higher ranked WR or play the board game?

I hate that people are turned off to the idea of drafting Cooks because he is compared to Smith.

We aren't interested in him because we want a Steve Smith clone. It's not "our focus". We are interested in him because he's a damn good receiver who may be available at our pick. On film, on the stat sheet and based on combine results he is a top 5 WR in this loaded draft class.

But to answer your question, no. We don't need to trade up. This draft is deep.

I would not mind it at all. It would excite the poo out of me!!!!!

Assuming we get Jones and Cotchery + cbs help, I would love to trade up for Watkins or Evans. Only those two tho. I like Lee but we could gamble our chances of him being there at 28.

watkins would wipe away the last 2 weeks around here. lol

    • Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless. Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities. In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too. The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.
    • If you are buying Silver Club, 300 level, try and the buy ones that have the Lot 1 parking pass.  it is steps to the stadium Also, buy on the shade side my PSls used to be section 342, under the overhang.  I didnt care about sun or rain plenty of sites have interactive  maps that can show you   Just know, if they are opposite side of 342, the sun will beat on your head…endzones too.   if, you know for sure that you are going, and you need a hotel room, do it now  you can always cancel … remember, even if the panthers suck,  the national press follows them as do their fans.  Hotel rooms go fast for that game
    • didn't he run like a 4.52?
