Panthers Reportedly Closing In On Deal With Cotchery

Desean Jackson could be a good rental type WR.  Come revive your career with Cam for a season then go sign the mega-contract somewhere else.  He's not as good as Steve Smith but he wants to be paid as much.

What? He needs to revive his career after putting up 1300 yards receiving?

He already has a mega contract, that's what keeping teams from trading for him.

I like the Cotchery signing if it comes to fruition. Can be a nice safety valve and he was decent in the red-zone.

As for D-Jax...wait it out and get it done for a 4th or 5th, should we go that route.

Screw that...

If you want him get him now. Wait around & he'll be in SF or New England.

Revive his career? He was a top 10 WR last year.

Revive it by getting on a team that wants him.  He won't be in Philly next year that's for sure.  Maclin is coming back and they've got Cooper re-signed.  Jackson has caused that team a lot of headaches and he needs a change of scenery.

I thought his contract was longer than 1-year?

Regardless, can't do anything but good to bring him in here if we can find a way to work around his contract (BYE BYE GODFREY)...

I have always thought his explosiveness, speed, elusiveness, and quickness is exactly like young-Smitty's, where he lacks is the ability to go up and get the ball and the physicality to break tackles like Smitty has...  Regardless, he'd instantly be our #1.  I'd love it, but I don't foresee it going down.  Reportedly, the Niners and Pats are interested as well.

The deal is done.  He's been signed.  His agent tweeted it.

Cotchery is a solid upgrade over LaDrops.  Solid run blocker and a big red zone target.  The WR corp has a chance to be better than next year...then everyone will be slobbing Gettleman's knob.
