Cyrus Kouandjio..... WHY?

Recommended Posts

Didn't this guy have a real crappy combine workout?  Doesn't he have possible knee issues?

Do we really want to waste a #1 pick on a guy who has the potential to be another J. Otah?

I don't know why mock drafts continue to select him for us.   I wouldn't touch this guy with a 10 foot pole.  Well at least in round 1.

I read somewhere that the knee issues were overblown and one of those - god forgive me for saying this - Smokescreens that teams throw out around draft season in order to try and get a player to fall to them. For all we know, we started that rumor in order to try and take him in the first.

to answer your question , No we do not want to waste a #1 pick ont his guy. There is a reason it is called a mock draft.because those who do them deserve to be mocked mercilessly.

Aren't serviceable linemen easier to find than playmaking skill players?  Unless we were in the top of the draft taking the true tackles then I'm leary of making a T the first pick for the Panthers.

But then again I was adamantly against DT's high in the draft last year.  (points finger gun at head and makes bang sound)

    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
    • I'd honestly take The Golden Calf of Bristol over Young. You know you can design an O around his skillset to win you games. Plus, as a bonus, said O would wear him down within 3 years so you could move on from him.
