so..that How I Met Your Mother show is over

I didn't know how many here watch it or have seen some episodes but it had it's finale.  I kinda forced myself through a lot of it in the later seasons but always thought it was an enjoyable somewhat corny show.

Spoilers:

You find out the main character is telling the story all along in order to get his kid's approval to date the Robin chick 6 years after their mom died.

So basically, the story arc from the first episode that you think is a puzzle piece to meet the mother is actually the overarching storyline of the series with Ted & Robin getting together in 2030.

NPH/Barney and Robin wed & divorce, he has a kid from a one-night stand, the main character and mother date and have 2 kids before getting married (this takes 5 years).  After 7 more, she dies....6 after that is him telling the story to the kids thinking about getting back with Robin which he does (the full cusack)

Pretty different for a sitcom ending.

That wrapped it up well.

It seems a lot of the intense fans of the show are mad but it made sense.  And it actually made the whole reason he's telling the story meaningful in a funny way.

This is pretty much Ted Mosby: "I'm not telling this story to be sentimental, I'm telling it to see if you're cool with me dating your aunt."

The kids are like "Just do it already! We're fine with it, Mom's been dead for 6 years, it's all good"

And he's like..."to the blue french horn!"

Completely underwhelmed, much like the last few seasons but we were all just finishing out the string.  Much preferred the Psych series finale.

Even had a reference to Monk. They are talking about doing Psych movies for TV I would think, but you never know with these fools.

It was an enjoyable show but I remember watching it last night and realizing that it was it's time to take a bow. It got reptitive in a lot of areas. The ending was kind of predictable.

True, and that's why it's gone. It did well to last as long as it did. This last season was ok but the one before was blah, glad it got a chance to wrap it all up.

    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
    • At least we have Mike Kay and his little buddy sidekick whoever to put you to sleep when suffering from insomnia. They're all useless unfortunately.
