CANADA'S GAYDOSH ANXIOUS TO RESUME NFL CAREER WITH PANTHERS

In fact, the Carolina Panthers' sophomore defensive lineman is so anxious to get going, he's leaving for Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday. That's well ahead of the start of organized team activities April 21.

But there's a good reason for the six-foot-four, 305-pound Canadian's eagerness. Gaydosh, 23, of Peace River, Alta., spent his rookie NFL season on injured reserve after undergoing surgery last August for a herniated disc in his back.

The former University of Calgary star -- who was selected first overall in last year's CFL draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats -- was injured while performing a conditioning drill.

"Going back now I feel I have a chip on my shoulder and something to prove," Gaydosh said during a telephone interview Friday. "Not only to the Panthers but to myself.

Lets be clear: There's a reason Gaydosh wasn't selected in the NFL drafted. So despite holding the impressive title of #1 overall pick in the CFL, keep the expectations measured. It's slim the Panthers turned over a stone nobody else did, or found themselves a defensive Victor Cruz  but it's the kind of player Gaydosh is that makes our obtaining him interesting.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
