The analysts---some esteemed, perhaps some not---of nfl.com and cbssports have spoken in their latest mock, and to me it's no surprise being this guy's dip and rise up the draft boards.  If that isn't hint enough, this guy has a kinda cool name.

 

A total of 5 out of 12 analysts have him as our top pick, with the next guy getting no more than 3.  Not surprisingly, all of the picks are composed of either WR or OL.

He could be like Star last year. Fall because of health concerns and then come in and beast. Realistically i want either him or CB Fuller in the first round. Outside of that it depends on the best available (within reason). So what im saying is i wouldn't be terribly upset.

This pick would be so meh. All the 1st round oline talent will be gone by the time we pick.

 

Kouandjio is a first round talent, you know.  Not a sexy pick, but a good pick nonetheless. That arthritic knee though.

 

NFL evaluators surprisingly were complimentary of Alabama T Cyrus Kouandjio in an NJ.com article.
"We like him," an NFC scout said. "We have him rated pretty high." An AFC executive called Kouandjio "raw" but said he had "a lot of upside." Kouandjio has been criticized so often throughout the process that you almost forget that his physical gifts and on-field production both scream first-round pick. His medicals and combine performance raise red flags, but apparently the NFL is keeping those concerns in perspective. "He had a bad combine, so that’s going to throw some people off him," an NFC personnel man said. "But he looked good on tape. He’s big, long, and he competes. I like that." Apr 6 - 9:03 PM

The guy is too slow to play tackle at the NFL level. He will be such a bust. I pray we do not make this mistake.

actually his speed, excellent athletic ability, very quick and light feet, excellent lateral agility, etc are what make him so elite. It is his technique that needs more coaching. As National Football Post writes:

"Kouanjio has better physical traits then Mathews (Texas A&M) and Lewan (Michigan), but at this time, he is not as good with his technique. The question teams will have to answer on draft day is, do they go with upside or what the player is now?"

      I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

      Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
