Ed Dickson visiting the Panthers

SCP

Ravens beat writer Aaron Wilson reporting Ed Dickson is visiting Carolina today.  I'd love it if this happened.  It would be a solid  1-2 punch at TE.

Edit:

Now reporting that is he LIKELY to sign during his visit according to multiple sources.

Tight end Ed Dickson is likely to sign with the Panthers today during his visit, according to a source. On his way to Carolina now Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider)

Wow, this has be excited about our TE combo.  Remember how efficiently we moved ball with Shockey/Olsen!!

I'd rather have a rookie (e.g., Marcel Jensen) who may have more upside, but if nothing else this would allow us to put a later round pick into another prospect at the top positions of need.  That's if we even sign Dickson.

Suspect hands...

    • Didnt watch the video, but I agree Bryce is 100% a complimentary piece right now. No argument there. But to be fair, there are only a handful of QBs that aren't. Lamar. Pat. Josh. Maybe Stafford. Herbert. Maybe Dak? Though not sure how good he would have looked last week without Pickens. A franchise QB can be a complimentary piece.
    • The hubris in those early quotes is insane in hindsight. It's Matt Rhule level cringeworthy.
    • If there isn't even incremental progression over the course of this season, much less next season, I am just not sure how you roll with him in year 5. But, $30 mil(est) is not an insignificant amount albeit fairly modest by elite QB price tag standards. The biggest issue with all this, as someone astutely pointed out in the thread previously, is that we have to make that 5th year decision this coming offseason.  So if we get the projected season he is on track for(3250 yds passing, 165 yds rushing, 31 total TD's, 22 total TO's). Is that gonna be enough to satisfy everyone he is on the rise? Let's say that we even finish within spitting distance of .500?
