AJ Klein.  I think the dude gets it and will be ready to start.  I thought Blackburn was gone, but just saw on panthers.com that he's still on the roster.  I guess it's better to have him than not.  Someone WILL get hurt.  Happens every year.

If he gets a chance to start, I agree that Klein could have a breakout season. He seems to be a talented player with potential.

My next choice would be one of our unheralded receivers like King, McNutt, Underwood or Pilares. If they can get themselves up the depth chart, say #3 or #4, then they could become a decent contributor.

Another one that might if he gets a chance is Barner. The kid has wheels, and if he gets involved in KR and PR, and gets some carries under his belt, he could become a similar player for us that Sproles is to his teams.

I hope he gets the chance.  Blackburn is 30 and Klein is 22.  If their production on the field is remotely close, it's a no-brainer to me.  I honestly think Rivera will trust his young defensive guys because of what they showed last year.  We didn't just have a solid D with those guys, we kicked ass.  I'm just not sure about the offensive side of the ball.  Sometimes I feel like he just tells Cam "I don't care what you do, just move the chains".  So I'm with you on the other guys you've mentioned.  One or two of them NEED to step up.

Lester or White. Not only will they both be solid starters, but they'll both end up being top 10 at their respective positions.

Not that I completely disagree, but I think both guys played well with an awesome front 7.  So as long as we keep that intact, it might not really matter who is playing behind them.

I think mw has the easiest chance because of our front seven. I think one of our top wr pick will have a lot of opportunities as well Not trying to downplay mw cause he has the tools and caught on really quick to the scheme but he had a luxury that the others don't necessarily have

    • Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
