Forget trying to draft a QB in the early first round--it's stupid
ColumbusCounty replied to MHS831's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC. Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy: Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying -
I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British. For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games. Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.

Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations. Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama. Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.

One of this key weapons is his ability to be mobile and buy time to attempt to make plays. Getting bulked up isn't really going to help that ability and it's never going to result in him being a better athlete or strong enough to shed defensive linemen. He just is what he is. IMO, his physical abilities(or lack thereof) are actually less concerning than his mental makeup, his dedication to correcting his mechanical flaws and his reading abilities. Those he was supposed to be elite at and he is dramatically subpar.

yes he is by not ditching byoung for a halfway decent qb

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
fanpanther replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
if was close i thought it was one of those could go either way with that said the panthers got the first down on the next play so made no difference at all in the game score. - Today

They are going to condemn us to two more years of this poo. Hopeless folly I should say.
-
Only touching the O in year 1 is understandable but if the DC has to be begged to do something beyond that then that says a LOT about your HC skills and ability IMO.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned

The ambiguity isnt a bug, it's a feature. It allows them to always be right and get the outcomes they want. -
This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

If they pick up the option there is no way they bring in competition. They are committing to him for 2 more years. I am still going back and forth with them cutting andy and if they will actually even do that. -
Why Panthers’ Dave Canales won’t run a QB sneak with Bryce Young
jtm replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is stupid logic. If anything, having a midget QB would be an advantage for a QB sneak because everyone claims he can't see over the line so he'd be a ninja behind the line because no one can see him. -
Id probably say Rice, Moss, TO, then a bunch of guys can be argued for top 5 for the other 2 slots
-
I don't think Dave touches the defense. That might be a mark against him but definitely a huge red flag for evero. He refuses to run anything other than soft zone and when you don't get pressure that's an awful scheme
-
You don't have to convince me. I think not picking up the option should absolutely be firmly on the table but I just do not see Tepper and Morgan doing that for previously stated reasons. Therefore I'm not going to bother entertaining the notion. Just hoping we actually get real viable competition. If that doesn't happen at the minimum then my perception of that is complete and utter professional malpractice.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
Bama Panther replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call. The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.” -
Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.

He is just fuging limited in every way. On one hand, any nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up. But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with. Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm. So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up. And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength. You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories… well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.

Think he would beat out XL for a spot on Sunday?

I have said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it - I wish I had just one person throughout my life that believed in me, favored me, doted on me, and made excuses for my shortcomings like this entire organization has for Bryce. It is unfugingbelievable. I would understand if maybe Bryce was 6’6”, 270 lbs., ran a 4.3 and could throw 80 yards off his knees. Like seriously, what the fug dirt does he have on Tepper or Canales. I don’t fuging understand it at all. Our coach just openly admitted that he can’t call a standard play for an NFL QB because he isn’t capable of running it. What the actual fug are we doing??????????
-
I will say that as bad as some coaches can be about wanting to fix headcase players, fans are worse. A while back, somebody on here wanted us to go after Titus Young.
-
For the most part yes. Joining the cheerleaders to cheer on a touchdown when he was on the Niners is harmless. His repeated solo look-at-me celebration on the Dallas star rubbed a few the wrong way. All in all, major talent, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear he still thinks he could play on Sundays, if some team would only give him a shot.
-
Was watching when that happened. The assistant or whatever she was that talked about "a man of his statue" didn't exactly help things.
-
He never reached the level of Aaron Hernandez
