Sonny Styles raved about his interview with Dan Morgan at the combine. It's too bad he won't be there at 19.

Ah yes a typical Bryce Young Defense Force post. No mention of the reigning Rookie of the Year or the #1 highest paid OL in the league two years in a row. Yes clearly our QB just needs All Pros at every position. We'll get right on that.

Should have put under dog bets on immediately apparently, numbers continue to drop, maybe play is money line favorites but I have been trying to figure out the best round robin set up for dogs. Right now I'm thinking 3 leg 12s and 15s, 2 leg 13s and 14s. It looks like it is slightly profitable with the lowest odds teams winning but what you'd really be hoping for would be 1 15 and 1 14 winning

Saw Darryl Dawkins play in the old Boston Garden with Philly and Dr J vs Larry Bird in his rookie year. Playoffs game. He was a physical specimen. Massive.

Obviously, there is more to being a center than just faceoffs and driving the net. Stankyboi is still putting it all together. And, he may never be a true net front presence. But, if he can do all the other duties of the job, we can build up size around him in the future. For this coming playoffs, though? He might not be that much bigger than Stank, however, Jackson Blake crashes the goal with the most reckless abandon I've seen in a Canes sweater in years. Dude is fuging fearless!
-
On the optimistic end, it is now an appealing job for a serious coach instead of us just begging any random dude to take on the role. We're talking about a team that brought back fuging Clifford lol. Speaking of I would take back Borrego over Lee after this last month and with this talented roster lol.

Panther Needs (3/14): The Shift to Defense
TheSpecialJuan replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the front office’s thought process on these four needs is probably pretty simple: they’re asking themselves at each position, is there a free agent available who can clearly upgrade the roster right now? Free Safety: No obvious upgrade in free agency, so this likely points to the draft Defensive Tackle: Same situation. Outside of older vets like DJ Reader, there’s not much that truly moves the needle, so this probably gets addressed in the draft as well Will ILB: Again, mostly depth-type free agents (Akeem Davis-Gaither, Kenneth Murray types), not clear upgrades — so draft makes sense here too Tight End: This is the one spot where there are potential upgrades available in free agency, like David Njoku or maybe Jonnu Smith So if I had to guess the approach: FS – Draft WILL ILB – Draft DT – Draft TE- We can still upgrade through free agency -

Defensive Tackle: The Need that Shall Not be Named

Completely agree. This guy is not an EDGE he’s a 3-4 DE -
BREAKING!!! Panthers signing Packers LT Rasheed Walker
Stuart Smith replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The reality is the kicker performed beyond expectations for a rookie and made the panthers winners in games that could have easily been losses. The panthers tougher schedule will tell us where we are. -

Defensive Tackle: The Need that Shall Not be Named

I really like Gracen Halton, I also love Kayden McDonald. I actually implore people to watch some of his tape, his ability to get off blocks and overwhelm the interior in the run game is beautiful. He is #98 -

I’m just happy to have him on the team, it’s fun having athletic freaks on the team. Also, dude was our best special teams player by far last year. -
Eli Stowers is gonna be a dude in the league
-
Nick Dawkins is a great dude, one of the highest character players in this years draft. Would love to see us pick him up him in the 7th or as a UDFA. Fun fact his father was Darryl Dawkins the former basketball player.

Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.

Tight End: The Need is Bigger than We Think
LinvilleGorge replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds. -
Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development. He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB. The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
-
I really don't think their hands are tied. It's not that. As fans we want to quickly move on from real or perceived poor QB play. Strategic timing is what matters and I think that's what Morgan is doing.
-
You want to use #19 to find out if we don’t target them because they suck or because we don’t embrace an expanded pass catching role due to philosophy? I don’t.
-
One thing the people they bring in that stands out, almost all younger players. 25, 26 year old FAs.
