He was bad last year, moving out of Tennessee was the worst thing he could have done, cause now he doesn't have talent to hide him.

Be careful, the copperheads are out big time
rayzor replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Huddle Lounge
Copperheads are pretty chill for a poisonous snake. I've run into them many times. I've lifted logs only to find one there and they just left. The first few times I saw them they made me piss myself. then i got used to them. I'd actually rather run into one of them than a black racer. Nonpoisonous, but super aggressive. I've been chased by a few of them. One time I had one i was trying to avoid come up on my mower. But copperheads should be respected for sure but if you can keep your dogs under control and don't step on them they'll show no interest in you. Fwiw, the last time I encountered one I was hiking with the family. My daughters were up ahead of us by maybe 15 yards and I wasn't really paying attention and apparently they weren't either, but I saw a copperhead crossing the path right behind them. It was close enough that they could have stepped over it thinking it was a branch. That was a bit freaky, but also points the the fact that copperheads really just don't care. You have to work to get those things mad enough to bite you. -
Dude went from getting 1st round talk to talking about getting benched.

Also hilarious that Nico Imaleaveya is 0-3 at UCLA.

Who's Delhomme v4.7.6?
-
You guys need to stop looking for, and comparing every qb to Cam Newton. Its never going to happen again.

The sign on College GameDay saying "Georgia likes wearing Tennessee orange" with pictures of UGA players in orange jumpsuits for their mugshots is craaazy. Bet that it'll be a good game at 3:30!

This is pretty much exactly what my Gamecock friend said as we watched games this year. He doesn't follow NFL at all and was a little surprised to find people were considering him a top prospect. Hes not there yet but has the tools at least
-
Anything like AR-15(IND)? Some folks wanted to draft him high. He kinda like Cam they said or the tools are there just got to learn how to QB. In the NFL it's to late to be still learning the basics Only QB I want is a guy that's the best player on a ok team. Someone that makes the players around him better not the team is so good it's easy every week.

I think they got about $400k to get slaughtered.

I'm with you on that one brother. Pretty similar here. My buddies from college and I still play each week together on a conference call. Sheesh, we've been gaming as a group since 1988. Man, I feel old.

Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?
OldhamA replied to OldhamA's topic in Carolina Panthers
He accepted the job, like Canales, under the premise that he'd commit to Young as the QB. Both Morgan and Canales are underqualified for their current roles - and quite frankly I don't think anyone else wanted the jobs with the said remit of committing to Young. He's doing his best with his hands tied - but yes he's clearly not a great GM. -

It’s going to get wild after this Sunday. I would assume Dave has a really smart plan. Sorta like the AZ plan last year. After a big turnover heavy bad game Bryce normally reels it in. Bryce will have one of his standard 60% for 200 days and the Bryce defenders will use that as a “ I told you he is good” games. -

Bryce is a really smart kid and I'm sure he knows all the answers to the test but he hasn't been able to overcome his lack of physical tools and other DC's know this and play him accordingly. I think Bryce has good processing but when the correct read is the WR 30 to 40 yards down field and you have a defensive lineman coming at you what can he really do? He just doesn't have the arm to effectively and consistently hurt the defense and I think that's what's gonna do him in. Pime example look at the INT versus Dallas last year when Thelien was wide open down the seam and Bryce threw it from a clean pocket and the ball was way short. Dc's watched that and knew that Bryce can't throw the ball deep. -

I'd give Bryce until the trade deadline to prove he's the answer and if he's not I'm dumping him for whatever pick we can get and I'm riding with Dalton the rest of the way. 2 and a half years is enough time to determine if he can be the QB going forward so for Bryce he needs to come out over the next couple of weeks and show that. The other players in the locker room don't wanna waste another year of their careers waiting to see if you'll ever figure it out. If you took a poll of the players in the locker room I'm sure they'd rather lose with a respected veteran Dalton who at least gives them some creditability versus losing with Bryce who the entire media will say was let down by his supporting cast when in reality it's Bryce's physical limitations that are holding this team back. -
The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old
jbland replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree that he should’ve never been the pick at 1. In my 44 years I’ve never seen a team invest that much in a QB who is my size. I’m not meant for the NFL and neither is he. Accepting we can’t change the past, I think it’s the correct call to keep playing him hoping that he will prove us wrong. I think we were dumb not to draft a QB this past year and let him learn and compete but that’s our reality. I’m hoping this is the last year with the BY experiment and he deliverers us 1. To the playoffs or 2. The number one pick and we draft a real QB. -
In his first interview after the surgery he sounded absolutely miserable. Man that must beat you down to have that done
-
If by week 5 he's not looking like a top 15 QB. Especially if we are 0-4. Considering this is the easy portion of our schedule. I'd bench him and run with Dalton or Hooker. Then release him in the off season. No one is going to trade for him. To continue to play him at that point would be a waist. Even if he somehow would get better, down the stretch, there is no way you can trust that it's real. The body of bad work is just too large. Being a decent QB in 6 of 34 or 35 games, and being one of the worst in the league in the rest of those is too much evidence that, you just aren't going to cut it. You also cant keep playing him because other players careers are on the line. To continue to march out a QB that you know will be off the team next year would turn the players against you.

Do you not remember how quickly the tone of the player interviews changed that first week Bryce was benched last year? Players are still people too - they can respect their teammates and still be irritated at poor performance. Not mutually exclusive. -
That would be best for both parties.
-
As a Gamecock fan, I think he's great a lot of the time. I also think he's overrated a lot of the time. He really turned it on the the second half of last season. However he started very slow. His passing needs a lot of work. He's very prone to over thowing a target by 10-20 yards. He has started this season pretty slow as well. Ive not been impressed with his passing or his running against relatively weak competition this year. I would need to see a lot more this year before I would want to use a high first round pick on him.
