Rhule ran the whole damn show. Every player acquisition mistake he made cost us.

Canes vs Flyers Back to back 7pm today, 5pm Tmrw
DavidEng replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
This team is playing unlike past Canes teams in several ways. But we have two good goalies and now Slavo is back doing Slavo things. -
You could successfully execute a quarterback sneak with me under center if your interior blocking is good enough. On the flipside, we could have had Josh Allen under center and that playcall still would have failed. It was a dumb call.

Tepper needs to let his vision of Evero and Bryce go. Let Canales work with Morgan to choose his own QBs and DC he can trust.
-
Yep. We run way too much zone for BY. BY needs a bad man D that can’t pressure

Can’t win when refs rig the game. Sorry it was just egregiously bad officiating. Add insult to injury in that it was the Saints who get every conceivable bullshit thing to go their way. -
it really feels that way, every week we battle the refs
-
We moved on from Rhule at this point in the Bryce saga….and Rhule didn’t cost us a bunch of other potential players

Look at fuging Minshew, man. His stats as a passer are far superior. And to your point, here is Bryce’s current season versus Teddy’s season here in 2020. And for the record, I loved Teddy in college, pulled for him early in his career as a pro player, and then the year we signed him I stated I had never watched a more painful QB performance over a season in my life. Then along came Bryce. This is unreal. career: Bryce’s current versus Teddy’s lone season here:

The league average PPG currently is 23.1. We held them to 20 points. Defense absolutely deserves blame for that BS gameplan, but they still held an NFL team under the average PPG, it's up to your "franchise" QB to make some plays to win you the game. Shough was able to do it. 163 yards ain't going to get it done majority of the time.
-
Young would turn the ball over multiple times against our D. He can't read the field and we're a heavy zone team.

Only some of them work other jobs and with the salary amounts it’s probably optional for most, and depending on where they live. The union is powerful because there is hard coded language in the contract that the refs cannot really be held accountable for mistakes, the accountability standards are vague and the refs can only be demoted for poor performance. Pat McAfee did a good segment on it. He advocates for them to be full time but who knows if the referees want it or get it.

It does not benefit the nfl to have a dominant team in the nfc south. Bunch of small market teams who the league benefits more by them having meaningful games against division rivals near the end of the season so people will actually watch and go to the games. Unfortunately, this is how things will be for the foreseeable future.

That honor goes to Matt Rhule.

If the Saints had Shough starting all season they'll probably be leading this division. They clearly have the best defense of the 4 teams. Their offense was the problem early on which better QB play of late has improved that. -
Going for it instead of leading by two scores in the 4th

Dave values potentially taking another 3 minutes off the clock there more than potentially making it a 2 score game. -

52? think you have to factor the Saints I think think lead the NFL in stuffed runs for negative yardage and we weren’t sneaking -
Watching a guy who has been one of it not the worst QB in the league this season feeling himself as much as JJ McCarthy is pretty damn wild. LOL
-
Sometimes it is. Hell, I've seen playoff level teams lose because they couldn't overcome nine points.

It would have been a 52 yarder -
Lamar Jackson (32nd), Jordan Love (26th) , Jalen Hurts (53rd), Jaxson Dart (25th), and Tyler Shough (40th). The Panthers could have collected all of them over the years and additional picks for the same capital they gave up for Bryce Young (24th (DJ Moore), 9th, 1st, 39th, and 61st picks). Worst investment in Panthers history.

Yikes was he mad at himself or Canales?

It wasn’t a gimme field goal. Going for it…WITH A SNEAK is the call. -

I feel like Dave knew the kind of game it would be and was trying to buffer the game from the refs. I think Fitzgerald could have made it but I was more upset that we didn’t just sneak Bryce for half a yard. He could have got that. -

This is just the law of averages working out. We're not a very good team that got lucky and caught two playoff bound teams in poor weather conditions winning the turnover battle in those games and ultimately ending up with two unlikely wins. That gets balanced out by taking two bad unlikely losses.
