Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

Jeremy Fowler: Panthers draft day intel
Swaggasaurus replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that. -

I mean, our TE room does suck but we had other pressing needs and no surefire upgrades in the draft. I was surprised at how many TEs went in the first three rounds. I think most everyone was. You want a guy who projects at least as a guy who has the potential ceiling to be a starter in those rounds and I didn't see 11 of those in this draft. Off the top of my head, I think that's how many TEs went in the first three rounds. It was in that range. That's roughly 10% of the overall picks. Definitely did NOT see that coming with this TE class. -
Anything less than a convincing season from Bryce should lead to serious consideration of drafting his competition / replacement in 2027.

Lol. As long as we are dreaming I would have liked to hear “well the two year option is about as far as we were willing to go, considering how strong the 2027 QB class is looking”. yeah I know it would never happen. But when they do have those internal discussions about the extension, I hope that draft class is part of what they discuss. Options.

His agent is asking for too much money for a soon to be 30 year old TE who hasn't been healthy lately. Ravens have the inside track to sign him.

Good points. Love that he's a versatile safety and not just a box safety...or just a centerfield FS. He has his strengths, which I think are the yin to Moehrig's yang, but can also get physical at the LOS if needed. His drafting is yet another piece on this defense that keeps offenses guessing. Between our DL and secondary, OCs and QBs are going to have their hands full figuring out pressure, shells, man/zone, whatever. Just like Bryce is on a "no excuse" year, I think Evero has the same campaign going. A couple of small holes, but overall, this defense should be top-15...if not better.

Yeah. Aside from the questionable arm skill what I see is he lacks the thickness to absorb hits, he won’t hold up as a running QB. So not sure what his path will be. -
Trevin Wallace - One Final Shot...or is Cherelus someone to watch?
outlaw4 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trevin now has Lee Hunter on the line in front of him to help and so that should make him better by default. -

This obsession with all these analysts on us needing a TE that badly was... odd. Yes, we certainly would've liked an upgrade but does the production from that position really warrant such high draft capital? I look at last year's production league-wide and I can't really make a case from a yardage standpoint. From a red-zone TD perspective, maybe. It seems Canales favors wideouts far more, though, especially since we drafted yet another one. -

Well they were long gone so haw can that be known? It was clear to me that we couldn’t stay put and get Rodriguez. And what were they to use to move up? Having Hunter and keeping the rest of the picks to use on these other guys was the right move in that scenario The only real pain free way to move up was to trade back in the first but when Freeling is sitting there that doesn’t look like as good of a plan -
Mike Kaye also mentioned we're no longer interested in Njoku

#1 proctor fan here. No chance panthers would be drafting him for OG. Phins are wrong about putting him at OG first, I mean look at that team, its a planet size mess that drafted well. You always try all OLmen out as LT and then if not RT. Most times the last spot is RG, I know cause that was my spot... TE, Im the biggest fan of the current group and they just need a breakout form any of the 3. Plus there's only one ball, Tmac should get the lions share of targets. Coker, Baz, chubba, and then you start thinking TE, unless one has a breakout.(brooks could be a weapon) Evans can be a lead dawg, just need to see how he attacked the offseason. Sanders just has awful injury luck. Tremble is still young, I think 25, many players drafted in 26 were older, he could figure out the last couple things holding him back. -
I noticed that during the draft. I was like man, Lisa Turtle looks like a good one! I remember Ceedee Lamb's girl took it as an opportunity to grab his phone and investigate. He swiftly turned and retrieved it with lightning quick speed.

Find me another player where the media flat out says they suck. You can find several comments such as the one from last year about how Canales is playing the way he has to with Bryce at QB. He already failed these idiots just refuse to accept it.

He's a Temu The Golden Calf of Bristol. He has the right attitude, he's an absolute dawg and I hated playing against him, but he simply can't throw at an NFL level (unless he's miraculously reworked his throwing motion between December and now) -

I don't think they had any of the day 2 ilb rated high enough to draft at 49-51 range where they were at. -
I know folks have gone to reddit but that format is like a messageboard from 1999. That sucks
-
That’s part of what really stings. It’d really take a quite minimum amount of effort to address some of these things but we can’t even get that.
-
Does he not have an email address or phone #?? I mean just one hour this entire year to fix sign ups would be enough for me.

lol you were praising the hawks a week ago. That backfired. They moved on from Trae, as you say, and suffered a terrible defeat. So much for that emotional attachment you spoke of. They’re very emotional here in the A today.

Granted I am super biased about the situation and with the coddling we have seen with BY, I would have been more satisfied with something like "yeah, we picked up the 5th, we know and byrce knows he needs to keep improving and once we feel like his play is good enough and consistent enough we'll talk" but I get it..... -
This site will always have a special place in my heart, but to call it a shell of what it used to be would be too kind. you can’t even sign up anymore. The last signup was April 2025. OVER A YEAR AGO. There’s been multiple threads on other panthers forums about trying to signup here and not being able to so not only has this forum ostracized some of the most longstanding voices on the huddle (Mr.Scot, PhillyB for instance) but we can’t even get new signups on to discuss panthers with. Yea the quality of posts and discussion as plummeted but I think it’s primarily because no one’s given a single poo about the site in years

Proctor's ability to move laterally in pass protection was a worry. Lomu not having great power or long enough arms was a worry. Freeling is just green with a highest upside than either of those two. Hell, Miami has already moved Proctor to guard, which we would not want to do this year for our guy.
