  1. Past hour
  2. Qb is the single most important position on the field. That's why the conversation matters, even regarding backups. And it all depends on whether or not you think Bryce is a legitimate number 1 starting QB moving forward. In 3 years, he's yet to put 2 full game, franchise QB performances back to back. For me, that's a huge red flag from a guy that we spent 2 1sts, 2 2nds and our WR1 to acquire. If the Panthers do feel he's the guy, I expect a 5 year 300m extension on the horizon following the draft. If not, then reason would dictate you keep looking for a staring caliber QB than bring in a backup with zero upside to be a 1 year backup. Teams don't make it to the playoffs consistently without a good QB. You may think Bryce is the guy. I don't. But either way, without better consistent performance from the QB position, an improved defense isn't going to carry a limp dick offense deep into the playoffs year in and year out much less make SB or NFCCG appearances and isn't that the ultimate goal?
  3. Sad to see him go maybe he will be able to come back as a backup player
  4. And that "something" is Derrick Brown. lol
  5. Haven't seen this anywhere but a Shawn Robinson was cut. Saves us $10.5 million Now juan can take it add breaking news and make it a thread
  6. No surprise. He was a good leader for the team. Maybe he can come back on a team friendly deal.
  7. The Panthers release DL A’Shawn Robinson to create $10.5 million in cap space. https://x.com/DNewtonespn/status/2031428891982647651?s=20 Thank you for your service
  8. Everyone's rushing to renew after the Pickett signing.
  9. I think we are all doing a lot of assuming that 1) BC will be ready to go week 1, and 2) He will be as good as he was pre Achilles rupture. We are all not sure that Ickey will ever be back to his old self (rightfully so), but just assume that BC will come back all fine and dandy when he suffered just as gruesome of an injury
  10. If we resign Brady to play center Taylor Decker to a one year stop gap Nat hobbs to play NB Draft will truly be BPA
  11. I looked and couldn't find anything from front office and NFL execs crowning Morgan as one of the top GMs in the league. The only thing I could find was a player's grade "leaked" from the NFLPA. What's your source?
  12. It does suggest we may not be viewed as negatively as our fans think.
  13. doublechecked the text in the Observer article. Yup, their math is wrong. Shouldn't that read $80 ? And that wouldn't support the "only" qualifier in that sentence
  14. Before the combine I was hoping he would last until our 3rd pick. But when he showed out at the combine I'm now afraid he will not last until our second pick. The Panthers met with CJ Allen at the combine so he's at least on their radar. Rodriguez must have met with us to make the comment he did. I knew he was a Morgan type LB but I think we have not shot at him now.
  15. This is going to be like Schwesinger last year. Very early 2nd is the floor. If a team ranks him ahead of CJ Allen, he’s a round 1 pick. This is a Butkus award winner that just destroyed the combine in lateral agility drills.
  16. Freddie in net. Need better blue line and goalie play
  17. As far as I know they didn't meet with any first round offensive line players at the combine. They had a meeting with the Duke center but so far that's it.
  18. At #19? No. There are no first round center prospects in this draft. There rarely are and we definitely don't need a developmental OG in the 1st who will almost certainly be a backup barring injury for at least a year or two.
  19. Everybody wants new and shiny things, but don't want to pay for it... The increase is justifiable, and if you can afford a $500 ticket, you can afford a $525 ticket.
  20. Not sure about his zone blocking scheme fit, but Slaughter, Lew, Hecht, Logan Jones, and possibly others are good agile zone-scheme fit olinemen that have the potential to start day 1 for us
  21. Can’t discount the aspect of players signing with a perennial bottom-dweller franchise for less than their consensus market rate. Anyone can sign a crazy contract to get the dollars, but when a team like the Panthers gets a top tier free agent without getting ass raped, it must mean the player believes in something about the team I assume.
  22. I think they are planning for different scenarios that may play out and have researched options in each case. At least that's what it appears to be early in this offseason.
  23. Today
  24. Got a few myself, but I have been disappointed plenty of times. I'm wondering how the current coaching is going to pan out this time around. They made me want to throw stuff at my tv.
  25. I really cannot say that I have any inside knowledge of who they are targeting. I'm just speculating like everyone else. I will wait until they finish all the official visits before I zero on who our targets might be. As it stands now they have not talked to anyone that will realistically be available at 19.
