BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coverage skills I can understand, but you'd think solid tacklers would be less rare than they are. That's a pretty basic skill for someone to learn if they're playing defense, at any age. -

Good tacklers are rare. Good coverage skills are rare. Having both is more rare. -
Yep, it's a very sensible trade off. 1st rounders get 100% guaranteed and teams get the right to a 5th year option. Win Win. Don't fug it up for everybody Cincinnati!

BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons

I don't understand why it's so rare to find a safety that can both tackle and cover. I guess because the ones who can tackle get moved to linebacker early in their careers and the ones who can cover are moved to corner, but you'd still think more of them would stick at safety than do. -

We need to quit being "interested" in signing a safety and actually sign one of them. -
Damn! Goose was 6'3" and 340 pounds! Big man needs 2 coach seats!

I was thinking more of a piss stain....but you're probably right.

Every pre-season we are the best and most bonded team.. Then comes the first game...

The OL coaches have been really good and we have a core of young talent behind the starters. I think, if Motown hits the wall and the knee says, "I'm done," I see Brady Christensen as a solid backup. I am so thankful they pulled him away from the IOL duties. He needs to be a T. He has to know that his future as a starter might be through Moton, this year or next. BC turns 29 in September, so he has about a 3-year window as a starter. But I feel a LOT better about BC behind Moton because he is a quality backup OT.

BREAKING: Panthers interested in Justin Simmons

If we’re looking at a vet with a low ceiling AND a low floor, why not just roll with the young guys? We’re not winning a Super Bowl this year. It’s ok to develop some talent. -
Watching Florida dominate other teams makes me feel better about the Canes, it's not a Canes problem , it's a Florida problem Florida is just simply miles ahead of the rest of the league, they dominated Edmenton and Toronto the same way they dominated us, we are in the prime Brady/Bellicheck Patriots era, except it's Murice/Bobvroski Panthers era And just think, it wasn't that long ago when Florida was always in relocation talks, and always the bottom feeders of the southeastern conference, now they own the league To think the last decade has been dominated by 2 teams who have 70 degree winters and only encounter ice in thier freezer
-
Now let’s hope they all demand a billion dollars and go their separate ways.

FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.

That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
-
Bring in the free agents and trades. Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.

Eh, they’re just trying to generate enthusiasm to sell tickets. I think it might be their job or something.

The Franchise guy Panthers 2025 deep dive overview
WUnderhill replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just think the guy erred a little too hard on the not wanting to look like he was favoring a team he likes. Panthers had the 25th best record last year so they already proved better than 28th, albeit only slightly. And this guy loved our draft, had Tmac as one of only 4 blue chip prospects in the draft, and said in this video that we improved or stayed neutral at every single position group, so I just don’t get the ranking. It really doesn’t matter, it’s just confusing. That said, I do enjoy the depth in the video and having 2hrs of in depth panthers content to look at in the offseason. I wish our local media was better. -

What bugs me about the safety position is that I’ve heard multiple times how important Safety is in Evero’s scheme. Wtf? Make it make sense.
