  1. Past hour
  2. I’ll never forget when Mike Jackson complimented all of the WR’s with specific descriptions. When he got to XL he pretty much said “Well XL tries”. He legit couldn’t think of anything good to say about XL. Facts are you could see he was a bust last year. He just had the convenient “he’s a rookie excuse” built in. You could see it this year in training camp in all of the 1v1 videos with him running his clunky routes, no separation. The way he moves, the way he catches, his non existent football IQ. Unfortunately he’s not an NFL WR. I’ll always have a hard time taking Dan Morgan seriously for taking XL and Brooks b2b.
  3. We have 7 games left. Put Hooker to the test. See if he's learned anything. IMO Bryce is done.
  4. The situation with the quarterback muddies the waters. I am sort of where I was on Bryce which is remove the excuses and let him show what he is. I hate to say I think we know but thinking and knowing can be a little different.
  5. I mean Coker is fine, but it's way past time for us to get another dynamic receiver on the field. I'm skeptical of UDFAs and day 3 picks to be honest, though I'm well aware that there are Puka's out there.
  6. I think they have maxed out the run game. What we saw the Saints do is basically the final level of what a strong run game gives you…..which is defenses comically overplaying it that should allow your pass attack to abuse a defense.
  7. I'm confused. So coaches should be super forth coming with their injury information so fans shouldn't be angry? I haven't went back and forth with you in a while. Some of the hills you choose man.
  8. I don't think this is the main issue to discuss because there's a bigger problem. I said this before the Saints game that as soon as a team sells out to stop Dowdle from beating them, we're all going to be reminded of how bad Bryce Young really is. The Saints had a very clear defensive gameplan to absolutely not let Dowdle beat them. They stacked the box and stayed home in the pass rush which caused Bryce to have several balls smacked down at the line and Bryce struggled to see the field. If it weren't for the roughing the passer penalty they wouldn't have scored a single point.
  9. Receivers find ways to make plays on poorly thrown balls / difficult catches every week. But XL routinely misses easier plays than that. I am willing to give him another year on the roster with a new QB but I think we should be seeing more Coker opposite TMac at this point.
  10. first meaningful game in November since probably the Cam homecoming in 2021 and we didnt just lose but got dominated by a team that mailed in the season after week 2. just par for the course being a fan of this team
  11. He can have a couple of decent games in a season so that should make him a captain soon... Maybe wait until til players do something consistently good on the field before pumping these guys up with unearned PR? Like hold the sandwich names and such until the production and not draft value support it?
  12. At least XL has the tools to be better. He just needs to a) stay healthy and b) put in the work both in the film room and practice. I've been critical of XL, but he could turn things around. I'm not sure he has the mindset to take his game to the next level. Until he proves me wrong, he seems like he's collecting game checks with no will power to be any better.
  13. Yea that's where I am. It's hard to judge him when he's playing with a QB who can't really get him the ball consistently, but considering McMillian is already producing I wouldn't say it's a great sign for Legette.
  14. Yeah, probably. However, he was drafted as a project. Next year, if we have can acquire serviceable QB play, we'll get our definitive answer.
  15. Kind of a secondary issue. They need to figure out how to get more out of the run game or nothing else is going to open up either. That means dealing with a stacked box. Might as well just send XL deep to try and take a defender partially with him. It's probably the best use of XL at this point. Doesn't matter because they probably see themselves at .500 as not too bad and after Atlanta it should look more like the Bills game. I would bet on more of the same for a few more weeks. 'Just got to figure out how to get ridiculous games out of Rico' is probably on a whiteboard as we discuss.
  16. I mean, I think Legette is probably a bust also, and that's after trying to defend and rationalize about him, but I'm not gonna use that play. He did stock his hand out there, but the ball was just too off target. That being said, I've never seen a guy who is supposed to have the potential of a star just disappear in games like he has. There are UDFAs that do more than he has with the number of snaps he's gotten. His only saving grace is that he plays in a largely inept passing offense, so there still may be a sliver of hope that the offense is so disjointed that maybe it's to difficult for him too succeed. That's probably wishful thinking though. We need a higher pick at receiver for the third draft in a row. Honestly, with needing a QB, a WR, a defensive back or two, a linebacker, and whatever else, who knows when we'll actually be viably competitive. And to think, people were trying to get after me a few weeks ago when I basically said that we drafted the wrong guy(s). Hopefully Dan has learned some huge lessons about drafting the past couple of years. As the merry-go-round spins...
  17. I don't really buy the whole distraction/we overlooked them, any of that crap. We finally just faced a team that came into the game hellbent on forcing Bryce to beat us. We're gonna stack the box like cordwood no matter what. We're gonna take away the run and we know that might open up opportunities in the passing game but we're just gonna play tight, physical coverage and rely on them not being able to connect on deep passes. I'm just shocked it took until game nine for somebody to do it.
  18. can't remember which poster said it, "don't trade a midget for anther midget"
  19. To be fair, Murray is much more mentally limited than physically. His height stinks but he is gifted physically outside of that. His problems are between the ears. His only positive assets are his physical gifts or he would be a dumber Bryce.
  20. He should be benched but with Atlanta this week he will have his yearly good Atlanta game and then his supporters will be back talking about how good he is still. Meanwhile, LA and SF lurk nearby and he will get a rude awakening (again)
  21. I'm going out on a limb here and say never on realization...
  22. They should trade him regardless in the offseason. Go get a vet body and just move on. Try and draft a QB but don't force it, they are already in QB purgatory so play the long game. If he isn't worth his 5th year option than he shouldn't be around anymore. Im not sure he will make some teams final roster, just depends where he lands. If there is heavy competition I wouldn't bet on Bryce. It's going to be interesting once he isn't treated like he is now.
  23. I think at times Canales catches undo flack when he has called a pretty good game and it’s clear Bryce can’t execute the offense. And other times he fails to properly scheme for the opponent, and sometimes it’s a combination of the two. The game against the Saints was the combo of the two things to the most extreme degree. Now I’m wondering how much of a distraction the Rico Dowdle / Keegan Michael Key stuff was this week.
