  2. Really like this picked with great value. Kid has huge upside. I bet we are finally not going to see huddle saying "can he plays LT" in this forum for the next decade.
  3. I'm happy with the pick, with the Ickey injury I think it's great to solidify the line and protect Bryce for sure. Seeing how the rest of the first round played out, who or what position would you have liked to see us pick if not Freeling? After Sadiq was off of the board, I was open to them drafting whoever they felt was best personally lol
  4. This is what winning franchises do. Redshirt him a year and sprinkle him in to get some live action but no need to rush him along. If he comes out of camp and abuses Walker, play him at LT. If Moton (god forbid) goes down….plug him in. Otherwise, no need to rush him along. He will find his footing in 2027. Freeling was tops on their board and I’m venturing a guess that he was ahead of Thieneman on most other teams boards too. You win in the trenches and I like the Lane Johnson comp on him if he hits his ceiling. Now, go out and get Rodriguez or Hill on Friday.
  5. Freeling was my OT1 and this is maybe my favorite pick of the first round so far. https://x.com/nate_tice/status/2047502145725816934?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  6. Monroe Freeling was my favorite pass protecting LT. Just trying to figure out how this makes sense for the current Panthers https://x.com/csimmsqb/status/2047495668118216899?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  7. Campbell has a really weird build altogether. Not just the short arms but he's really narrow across the shoulders too. Overall, it just leads to a really short reach and a narrow base. You better have flawless technique and really quick feet to make up for it and he showed neither as a rookie.
  8. Well, for the people who rationalized that building up the WR room would help the next QB if Bryce is gone, I will say the same thing about a LT. Or a RT.
  9. Look, I liked Lemon a ton, but do you really think Bryce Young can lead an offense to the top half of the league with his arm, even if we give him Lemon? I just don’t. Without any running game ten 1st WRs wouldn’t help us much. If either of those tackles misses time we have nothing. No running game, no protection, no production. This is the most practical direction we could have taken. All IMO of course.
  10. One point he made in an interview about his relative low number of starts is who he practiced against everyday at Georgia.
  11. Some Huddlers will stop talking crazy once Freeling gets his legs under him. Prototypical size, length and athleticism with true LT experience. He only allowed five pressures and one sack in 700+ snaps. What more do you want from a college prospect? I say we got a little bit of a steal.
  12. OT is probably the teams biggest need moving forward. Moton on his last legs, gonna be gone soon. Ickey's injury is really nasty and has a very low success rate. Most likely he never returns to form 100%. Walker is just a one year band-aid. In today's NFL you need two good OTs and they have ZERO long term answers. If Bryce flames out, then you're forced to use the 1st next year on a QB (and possibly 2nd rounder to trade up). And then what? You drop your new top pick QB in behind an OLine with zero OTs, two aging guards and whoever ends up playing center? Total disaster. Given that Freeling was considered a top 15 pick by most, easy decision here. Not flashy or exciting but it's the right move.
  13. Most projections had this guy gone before we picked. This is good value for a guy who can be a plus starter for years.
  14. Look. I would have loved to have the safety. The reality is positional value comes into play. When is the last time the Panthers even selected an offensive lineman in the draft? I get it, you preceive him as a project, therefore you dont like the pick. His size an mobility is tops for the tackle position. He wasn't even expected to be there. I'll take a career cornerstone at tackle over safety every time. Have a great evening.
  15. What this taught me is that if Dan Morgan says he's not going to do something in the draft when asked, expect him to do exactly what he said he wouldn't do. Lmfao
  16. Who the hell thinks he's pro ready???? I can't think of a single person who thinks that legitimately. Everyone who does mocks and scouts thinks he needs to sit one or two years with good oline coaches
  17. It was underwhelming no doubt but it’s the type of decision a smart front office makes. For the future OT was a major need
  18. Have you considered doing a newborn registry? Put the items you need for the twins on the registry and let people buy them for you directly. What do you need the most right now?
  19. You like the pick, fine. I dont and think we could have gotten a stud S for the backend of the defense. His combine wasn't good as far as real drills and we could have gotten OL later. Everyone who looks at him says hes a project. Is that truly what you want as a top 20 pick? If so go play Madden.
