  1. Past hour
  2. Since about 80 of you have sent me a PM to chime in on this topic, I will appease the masses: I have some weird views on RBs. Get a RB that can catch and block. If you want great running, get an OL. Never, except in rare situations, sign a RB to a second contract. When they peak at age 27, you rarely get a return on the investment. The most important trait for a RB is not speed-it is vision.
  3. Today
  4. If you trade Hubbard are you content with Etienne as our most skilled RB? That IMO not a good idea for a run first team. Huge gamble.
  5. To be fair Etienne didn't get a whole lot of opportunities. The miniscule body of work (20 carries), however, did produce 94 yards and a 4.7 average. I guess we can conclude that he's decent depth. Could be running on the bubble though as special teams was a little sketchy.
  6. That is a huge gamble. You cannot be 100% certain that you are going to get a solid running back to replace Hubbard. You can think we can get a replacement in the draft you however you would be going into the season with a 30+ YO RB, a running back who has had 2 ACL tears in the same leg and a 2nd yr RB with limited success and a rookie you hope can replace Hubbard. You are taking a serious gamble for a run first offense. Hubbard won't be traded. It makes zero sense.
  7. I don't know what the pick will be. If he's an impact player day 1, I don't care which position they draft.
  8. Old man If is dead and stiff. But, to play the game, If Icky returns back up to par and if Walker is extended, and if Moton can play in 16 games and if he is extended, and if we decide to sign one of the four expected free agent tackles, two of which who also grade in in the low 80s just like Moton and another in the mid 70s, then we'll be alright. I mean, all the "ifs" are ultimately born of speculation. 2026 is so far setting up to be better than 2025. People are positive about our chance of winning the division, and that's before they see what we draft later in the month. There's always more than one way to get to where you want to go.
  9. I fact checked this before posting, it is true: the 2027 class helps nothing in 2026. On to opinions… 2027 tackle class is strong and deep. So is the QB class. What do you think we’ll take first, if we wanted both? T or QB? Because if Bryce doesn’t tighten it up considerably in 2026 they would be nuts not to be drafting a QB. And that cuts you out of drafting a pro ready tackle. Which you will need to be pro ready. And the chances we are looking for a new RT as well as L is fairly high, given Moton’s contract and expected decline. He is starting to wear down it looks like to me, and the price keeps going up. After 2026, it might be time to move. Durability wise, cap wise, 2027 may require it. There could be a lot of bills coming due at once, I’d just as soon sacrifice the WR party this year for some security. If Icky hadn’t gone down, this wouldn’t even be a thing. But it happened and it is a thing.
  10. There is like one pro-ready tackle according to most scouts, and even his arm length has been in discussions, as well as Fano's and Proctor's. Fano basically has 32" arms (my goodness!). The optimal arm length is 34 inches. When Rashawn Slater came in, he had short arms, but was technically elite. The closest one to him, who is technically sound is Mauigoa. All the others have work to do. When you add it all up, they may have to move to guard. The only one that I think is a slam dunk to play left tackle is Freeling, though Miller has that possibility but will likely stay on the right. Either way, there is a huge possibility, if not a downright likelihood, that neither would unseat our projected starters during the coming season. Lastly, for all this "potential crisis" talk about tackles, the 2027 class is expected to be strong and deep.
  11. 5 way tie at 45 wins would give the hornets the 5 seed if anyone cares lol
  12. Admittedly I did not. Just going by what I remember in a Panther uniform. I know that we're Panthers fans and appreciate Ginn's stay with us, but If we're being honest, Ginn was a bust. That's why he played for so many teams. And, I still say he wasn't as explosive or twitchy as Concepcion.
  13. Win 2 of our last 4 and home ice until the finals.
  14. So much for that. Guess we gotta hope the Pistons and Knicks rest some guys this weekend.
  15. Can appreciate the stat, and that's a good record in the NBA. But the lack of consistency is still atrocious. Beat fully loaded OKC, then lose to Indiana and Toronto at home. 9 game win streak, and then get literally beaten up by Detroit at home and drop 3 of 4 home games. Beat Boston, then lose to Miami and Phoenix Beat New York, then blow huge lead to Philly, don't even look competitive vs Boston, both at home Win four in a row, then look like a WNBA team in the second half vs Boston last night. They're on the way up. But there is still a long way to go.
  16. Nailed this one, except the comment about him being a good skater. Too stiff and slow. Hope he does not cost us a playoff series.
  17. Lot of Bryce stans see a built in excuse and don’t want to mess it up.
  18. Its amazing how quickly many have lost sense of importance of OL. The team is dead in the water without offensive tackles. We've seen it.
  19. I put a premium on QB and OL. You can operate if you have quality there and league average elsewhere a whole lot better than if you have the inverse of that. OL especially helps average RBs be good RBs and average QBs be the best they can be. DBs can only cover guys for so long. If you can have more time to throw and better protection you can offset not having the best WRs in the league. Just getting one real WR stud makes the whole room better too. IMO you do not have to have a roomful of 1st rounders there to compete. One guy that really worries the other team opens it up for the average guys.
  20. Yeah I don’t have a link but there was a YouTube with this as the subject… conflicting messages. Canales where he said it and Morgan on Kay Adams we’re both pumping the sunshine hard. Tillis, much more measured in his comments. It was kind of decided that he is cheap and there no better cheap options but I am not settled on what they are thinking. I know what I think and if Bryce can make 5 of 6 games being good top level Bryce then dammit, okay give him the deal. I will have to see that to believe it. But that basically gives him an arbitrary 3 duds a season. Allowed because even the best have bad games occasionally. It doesn’t mean win 5 of 6 it just means be the guy they thought they drafted in 5 of 6. (instead of the guy I thought they drafted, which he has been)
  21. An offensive lineman. I don’t think anything holds more value to the offense than that position group. my point being is you can find guys you like for the value you in every round. And if in the early rounds no skill positions are valued high enough to justify then just look at the next group. If that’s oline then I say go for it. I think BPA is what you have to do early. but poo I’m just chilling on my arm chair typing this poo.
  22. Yeah. Not sure you watched Ginn in college. He’s got a better top end than KC for sure regarding the world class speed. He did Wildcat, Punt return, displayed plenty of elusiveness. May want to refresh the memory.
  23. Too late to edit the above post. So… NM I just found it. Passed on Proctor for the Clemson guy. Mildly confused there. In a bad way. We passed on Golday for a TE. Not confused there, hate it. Passed on true C Slaughter for the G. I mean, if they want the G to be a C and feel like he is superior athletically for the position, I get it. Grade = Incomplete without that info.
  24. I sub too, I just couldn’t find it. I saw rankings, the whole download the Beast thing, but no 3 round mock. Google didn’t help.
