With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....
LinvilleGorge replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Bengals are pure ass too and with Burrow expected to be out until December they're gonna be done by then and they'd be insane to put him back in the field again this year. They might be in the mix too. -
It makes him look weak and not in control of his staff. It shows the players the headcoach does have it together and has no authority over half the team. Its a really bad look.

Rankings are crazily evolving this time of year. My own included, but I still think this is a super exciting class compared to past years. Nuss & Beck (Seniors) will be coming out for sure, but their buzz is being muted by the big risers; I'm not sure they're high draft picks. Nuss maybe. Sellers (20 y/o) is an evolving case, sky high potential, athleticism and crazy deep ball...but being just 20, does he come out yet? Or go the Cam Ward type route? Indiana plays Oregon Oct 11. Mendoza (22 y/o) vs. Moore (20 y/o) That game is showcasing the two rising prospects this season generating the buzz. Will be one for Panthers fans to watch. Both of these guys have an ARM. John Mateer (21 y/o) is coming back in 1-2 weeks. He could still crank out a very nice season. So let's say Sellers & Moore go back to school...(they'd be in the top-3) Still high on: -round 1 guys- 1. John Mateer - exciting guy, top-of-R1 worthy 2. Garrett Nussmeier - slight slump but still a nice prospect 3. Fernando Mendoza (pending closer look) - major boom/buzz happening with him -tier drop- 4. Carson Beck - The next McCarron/Bennett type guy 5. Sam Leavitt - There's a lot to like, but he's a bit too..ordinary? Want a higher ceiling. 6. Drew Allar - a guy that people want to like but they just hasn't played to level you want. I don't see the feel/energy in his work. 7. Cade Klubnik - oof, stay away *watch: Taylen Green Arkansas

Panthers are full on ass, but I still don't think we're wrestling the #1 pick away from the Titans and Saints especially, and maybe even the Jets too. Probably picking in that 4-6 range.
-
I think he did advocate for Frank, at least initially. Whatever happened during those first 6 games turned the coaches, and probably some players, into the Game of Thrones. I honestly think Fitterer had a lot to do with the upheaval. He was pissed that his 1st overall pick was looking like ass and blamed it on the coaches. The coaches then went into self preservation mode and all hell broke loose.
-
This suggests that Canales has job security through next season. A coach on the hot seat with a ‘win now’ mandate typically is not focused on player development.
-
This franchise just has no self awareness under the Tepper's.
-
Chris McClain on the Mac Attack this morning said he was told by a team source that Evero and the defensive coaches pushed heavily on Fitterer to draft DJ.

With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....

Allen went 7th overall. Mahomes went 10th overall. Lamar went 32nd overall. -
Some guys just aren't football players. Really seems like you could find some way to use an athlete like that but at the same time, if they can't play football they just can't play football. It is what it is.
-
But Scott can communicate!!! - Evero And get a tripping penalty on a 3rd and Goal from the 30 to allow a first down. Until Nick Scott is cut or on the bench, Evero is an unserious coach incapable of changing.
-
My first reaction was “that’s true” but I think the masses are finally seeing the light on Bruce and we are coming out of it.
-
How in the fug is Scott still on the team today? They cut DJ so why not Scott too? DJ can't be the only dead weight they are cutting. Throw in Moore too. Bench watmer that can't even make it through a game.

People like to throw around the phrase that ‘it couldn’t get any worse’ when in actuality it can and saying that is nothing more than hyperbole. Gentlemen, I submit that at this very moment, the Panthers defense accurately wears the ‘it could not be any worse’ label. I’m not a change for the sake of changing person, but Evero is not the guy. Even the worst of rosters will eventually show an inkling of progress. I refuse to believe this is the worst roster in NFL history from a talent perspective, but last season it was the worse performing, ever…. And the DC keeps his job?!?! Just think about that. Worst in the history of the NFL and he keeps his job? By that standard, what does DC’s leash look like? You serious Clark? In sane circumstances, every defensive coach gets walking papers after having fielded the worst NFL D of all time.. but not here. Makes you wonder who is really piloting this laughing stock…. And that is the guy had the gall to send Steve packing… but I digress. Evero, regardless of the circumstances he was given, just can’t be allowed to continue here. Digressing is simply not possible when you’re the worst of all time. Literally anything has the potential for improvement. His chance of turning this around at any point is 0.0.

I view it like Canales grew at least one ball, so I like it. It is an assertion of his intention to go down swinging.
-
Not just that, consider the picks we gave up in that draft --- brace yourselves: R1 Jalen Carter DT (CHI traded 9 to PHI) - top starting DL in the league w/some screws loose R2 (from the CMC trade) Brenton Strange TE - solid starting TE R3 (original pick used for Matt Corral package) Marte Mapu LB - Developing depth/Vrabel loves him and he's making an impact at LB - Byron Young also went like a pick or so after this lol R3 (from the DJJ package) Darnell Washington TE - developing but getting more playing time R4 (DJJ package) Nick Herbig EDGE - a blooming EDGE defender for PIT. Having a great season. 80%+ defensive snaps R6 (Gilmore trade) Kayshon Boutte WR - was hyped, has had his moments. Way more impactful than Mingo and others
-
On the surface yeah, but Tepper was heavily involved with this shet show
-
Im just saying, Mendoza or Moore at 8 to 10 range if one of them is there is an appealing option. If you go defense, at least look at one of the 2nd tier guys in the 2nd or 3rd round so you can have options and competition.
-
TBH, I was a bit surprised before I saw the article that no one took a chance on him even for the PS, simply because of his physical tools. I think we had him playing gunner at one point. He has edge rusher size and runs a 4.3. So yes, the fact he was in our roster for multiple seasons, gets cut, and doesn’t even get a PS invite elsewhere tells us all we need to know. Times have never been worse as a Panthers fan.

Could be said for a lot of coaches here, but also as far as Evero goes... Didn't develop DJ Johnson or Jammie Robinson Trevin Wallace still has hope, but that's fading fast and Payton Wilson was on the board. So far, Wallace looks like depth/ST at best. Crumedy is a 53rd man on a bad roster. Chau Smith-Wade has been solid And this year...Canales has basically said to play the rookies, so we'll see. I have hopes for all the defensive rookies and think they've all shown promise. But...how much of that is actually *finally* drafting a good player vs. anything Evero did in a couple of months? As far as offense goes? Whoof...might somehow be even worse.
-
This goes with all of the first half picks. Draft football players. Not projects.
-
So he received no interest from the other 31 teams for training camp or practice squad opportunities. Sounds accurate for someone our team cut.

Proudiddy started following Former Panther Barno Arrested

Wow. Reading about DJ’s release got me to thinking and I was like, “I wonder where Barno is now?” because I always liked his potential. Welp… he’s nowhere, and will remain nowhere after this. https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/crime/amare-barno-former-nfl-player-arrested-domestic-violence-charlotte/275-74e438ed-6527-4c02-b547-3d325c54895b

Yes, no more awarding players unchallenged starting positions. And never make bad players your captains. What kind of message does that send? This fuggin team drives me crazy. lol

Firing Evero isn’t going to accomplish much overall Dan and Dave make him the scapegoat to buy themselves more time. I don’t agree with how Evero runs the D but there is next to no talent on that side of the ball Dan and Dave are the real problem
