  1. Past hour
  2. So we can scrap a 1st round Edge guy. I had my doubts about it anyway. Looking like a LT at #19 now.
  3. Well. If we were going to swing this big. I'd rather it be this than an ILB. Leave that for the draft.
  4. Okay 80 guaranteed that looks like we could get out after two years maybe. Three for sure. I guess he is one side, Scourton the other. now draft a guy a little later to be coming on in year three.
  5. Phillips was ranked No. 2 in The Athletic's top-150 free agents and was the second edge rusher behind Trey Hendrickson. This is a major investment in Phillips, who turns 27 in May. He was a 2021 first-round pick by the Miami Dolphins, who traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in November for a third-round pick---- Jaelan Phillips entered the 2026 NFL Free Agency period as one of the most coveted defensive players on the market, frequently ranked as a top-3 edge rusher and a top-10 overall free agent. Efficiency: Despite only recording 5.0 sacks in 17 games, he finished 4th in the NFL in pressure rate (18.8%) among edge rushers with at least 250 snaps. Total Pressures: He recorded 73 total pressures, which ranked 9th among all edge defenders in 2025. Career Stats: Entering the 2026 season, he has accumulated 28.0 career sacks.
  6. The risk is a concern, but every player who steps on the field is at risk. Part of it. No fan of the price, but I wanted him back when Hendrickson was the talk. Then I got off Edge altogether, thinking we could not afford edge. Tired of all this winning.
  7. 9th highest rate of pressures but those sack numbers are concerning to me
  8. Extremely aggressive but it is a critical spot. It's a type of move that can pay off. Taking a gamble with the injury history but you're getting a very very good pass rusher. Not crazy, almost crazy. This is like what the Burns contract would have been. But we got a pick out of Burns and Philips is better in Run-D. I actually don't hate it.
  9. yeah but Burns has missed like 100 tackles at least half of which were qb sacks... so its basically even.
  10. It is also the smart move as Tackles in general, and LTs in particular, cost a lot of money So, knowing a qb contract may be incoming, if he is there, take him he can also play RT…and Moton isn’t getting any younger, and can cut Moton after this year and save substantial money so bring back Yosh and draft a LT and find another backup during FA it was what ,playoff teams do
  11. Very risky he is now the 7th highest paid edge in the nfl, and has never had more than 8 sacks in a season and he had 5 last year
  12. Flourished under Vic Fangio and EJ runs a similar system. Perfect fit for the guy
  13. if he is forced to retire due to an injury it's paid out, if he can still play and chooses to leave I think it depends
  14. Taylor Decker would be a no brainer slam dunk signing on a 2 year deal.
  15. Idc what anybody says it was clear as day that we should’ve signed burns . Now we signed a guy who’s Tier below even burns
  16. I don't get it, he had 5 sacks last year He did record 73 QB pressures but I thought our primary need is someone who can finish sacks consistently. I guess this is what $30MM a year gets you these days.
  17. I don't disagree, I mean imagine adding a high lottery pick that we hit on to this group. But yeah I think this team can make a run and all the young guys need to get playoff experience sooner rather than later. The games are different and that experience will be important once we are finally ready to contend year in year out and view seasons as Championship or bust.
  18. Phillips at 30 or Lloyd at 20 Ill take Phillips at 30 over the Lloyd 100/100 times i really wanted Oweh. Wanted more of a pure pass rusher but this is an Evero scheme fit. This scheme isn’t great for pure pass rushers. So if we move on from Evero after this season…
  19. Dan the Man has a plan! Since Dan has taken over, he has been aggressive in tackling each team's weakness every offseason. O-line year one, D-line year 2, Pass rush year 3.
  20. That's what I was thinking...think he immediately makes Brown( and Scourton) even more effective. Makes teams pay for double teaming
  21. How does guarantees work if someone retires? This guy retired as a sophomore in college. If he gets injured again, I could see him hang it up. Also, I like him as a person and player.
