True, but I also remember the days when a backup would come in and put up all pro numbers against us. Hopefully those days are behind us now.
-
I wouldn't question Richardson's toughness, but he does seem remarkably injury prone.

Echoing the things many others have said, what I wanted to see what an "answer" to the QB question coming into this season and with the 5th year option looming this offseason. That was an insane game by Bryce, literally what we had all hoped to get from him when we traded up to get him. Kudos to him for that performance, it literally was franchise history. But....this has to keep happening. Not franchise history but good games. You can't have 1-3 of these each season. That's not a franchise QB, that's Ryan Fitzpatrick. We have the toughest stretch of our entire season coming up, it's going to basically be put up or shut up time for Bryce. He's probably playing for his Panthers future.
-
Can’t do anything but give him respect for that performance. He can hold his head high. He’s got heart.
-
Interesting how you keep posting these ridiculous comments. He absolutely threw deep with great accuracy at Bama. You don’t know what you are talking about as usual
-
CJ looked great before the injury against Texas. Reece is probably out of reach for us but Allen would also help us big time.
-
I honestly think this guy lost a bet or something. Either that or is a sock account. His posts are somewhat perplexing.
-
That's called toradol.

That's something I have said repeatedly about Young is that he is unquestionably tough. One of the worries coming into the league was that he was so small that he might not be able to take the beating the NFL offers. Truth be told, he has been more durable than his extremely large and physically imposing contemporaries in that 2023 NFL Draft. To date, he has only missed 2 career games due to injury compared to 4 games for CJ Stroud and 17 games for Anthony Richardson.

I mean, his 2nd and 3rd seasons pretty much confirm him as the primary issue his rookie year. Year 2 and 3 contain all the imploding play and pointlessness that made his rookie year what it was….with now a random good game here or there mixed in. people didn’t want Bryce to be horrific….so they scapegoated Frank and company who got fugged. Frank is NFL average and it was seem a safe place for a rookie for a reason. bryce couldn’t do basics in a real offense and imploded the ship
-
The vikings are already talking about moving on from JJ because of his horrendous play. Do I agree, not sure, but the point is teams see the product and dont wait 3 seasons to make a call

Will 5-6 wins be enough for Canales to keep his job?
Khyber53 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Canales isn't on any kind of hotseat right now. And Echiro will probably get some HC sniffs depending on how the season rolls out. And Bryce? I can't knock him after that performance yesterday, except to say, do it some more. Here we are 11 games in and we're a half game out of first place in our division, we have a better record than the Chiefs and Ravens. Did not see this season playing out this way. Hardest remaining schedule in the NFL (as of stats yesterday) but that could be a real character building opportunity for this team. If we could squeeze out a 9-8 season, I think we'd call it a miracle. -
You consider 16 points and 102 passing yards (with an INT) good?
-
No. He calls these plays every week. Young doesn't hit them.
-
Maybe Bryce proved something to the fans, his teammates and himself yesterday. That was a helluva gutsy performance out there just to come back on the field after the first time. Then the second and the third. To also set the all-time Panthers single game passing record AND have two comeback game drives in a very hostile stadium. Can't do anything but give the guy his crown for this week. Tough kid, great performance. Maybe he and Canales can open it up a bit more now.
-
I don't know why we'd throw away Bryce's first year when statistically it fits well with quite a few of his games this year and last, even when we're winning. I want to see extended success this year and I'll be happy to keep him (albeit with different people behind him, please!)

I think he gets 1 definitely and 1+ if he gets a new QB. On an off note, I think that the bigger question is Ejiro Evero, but I believe even he will likely get another year. -
Glad the D held them to 6 points in the 2nd half, but let's also recognize that the Falcons dropped like 5 passes in the 2nd half/OT. I started rooting for ATL to screw up more than us to make a play on defense because I don't think our D really did that much in the 2nd half

Coker fought hard for yards yesterday... There was one play I hoped for him to get a first down but a lot of that is scheme and where balls are thrown. When an offense isn't stressing opponents deep is there's lots of people to gang tackle intermediate yardages. The problem most of the year with YAC has been how Bryce floats balls. It allows defenders to close. We've seen it time and again... But on the YAC discourse Bryce has pretty much half his yards this season from YAC which is pretty much spot on for the players with the most YAC. He's just thrown for very little because... Well yeah. Happy for him and his performance yesterday. Something to build on for sure

Sure was interesting yesterday. Might have to upgrade to Ritz.
-
Somebody needs to kick him in the shin before every game. Pain seems to concentrate his focus.
-
Its hilarious. I mean they gotta fire somebody after that. To let him come in and do that a second time back to back years is humiliating.
-
At this point, it’s pretty wild to call Bryce’s rookie year a throw away year and wipe it from his resumes It went horrible….in large part…..because of Bryce.
-
Facts....I dont know where folks are getting this stuff from. If anything Canales dials it back because Bryce starts throwing interceptions when he puts to much on his plate. Why would he not? Turnovers effect winning games. Bryce has a tendency to do too much of that at times. Its all in bryces head. You either get confident Bryce or timid mistake making Bryce.
