  2. Well I agree, There's more at play here. Say you do just that and now its the off-season, Rico gets 3 years 32million from some team and Chubba is still here...... He's now upset after the team hurt his "ego" and now wants to be traded...... Now the Panthers are praying a double ACL'd RB can be the new lead back while he is thinking about retiring.....Tevor is still a #3, so.......drafting a RB in the first is back on the menu, followed by me and many others bitachin non-stop about spending a 1st on RB.....
  3. I didn’t like it when we had Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, I like it even less with Hubbard and Dowdle. I also think it sends a bad message. It tells our backups that it doesn’t matter what they do or how well they play, they are locked into being a backup.
  4. I find it odd that as soon as a QB that is capable of throwing the ball downfield enters the game, XL's production goes up...who'd have thought the WR needs the QB to throw them the ball to produce.
  5. This is really simple. You play Rico until he’s tired and asks for a break. You also sub in Chuba during obvious passing situations because Rico can’t block for poo. That’s it, that’s the rotation.
  6. Im not going to bust your balls too much, cause I didn't know either. I just know these days NEVER rule out high ankle, its took over the league starting 10 years ago. Players/trainers wrap the fug out of their ankles, that could be a cause. I know there are about 3 levels, 2 full weeks for the 1 grade. 6 full weeks and maybe even surgery for level 3. Nothing can improve missing time either, they have been working to find a better cure. The truth- maybe they are lying about it being "high ankle", who knows.
  7. It would be kind of cool to see Chuba pound the opposition for the majority of the first half then have Rico come in fresh and amped up in the second half.
  8. Honesty I can’t see that happening with the team as currently constructed. But to feel good about them I need to see them beat who they should beat and steal a couple they are dogs in and compete (with the top teams), be a team people don’t look forward to playing. That is what I feel like they owe us, more is gravy.
  9. Start Rico. Don't take him off the field until he asks to come off. Let Chuba spell him until Rico catches his breath then put him back out there.
  10. Player Defensive Snaps Special Teams Snaps Nick Scott 61 (100%) 8 (35%) Mike Jackson 61 (100%) 3 (13%) Jaycee Horn 61 (100%) Tre'von Moehrig 61 (100%) Trevin Wallace 61 (100%) Chau Smith-Wade 45 (74%) 7 (30%) Christian Rozeboom 45 (74%) 6 (26%) DJ Wonnum 43 (70%) Derrick Brown 41 (67%) 3 (13%) Nic Scourton 40 (66%) 3 (13%) Tershawn Wharton 35 (57%) 3 (13%) A'Shawn Robinson 31 (51%) 3 (13%) Lathan Ransom 20 (33%) 14 (61%) Princely Umanmielen 20 (33%) 2 (9%) Bobby Brown III 15 (25%) 3 (13%) LaBryan Ray 13 (21%) Boogie Basham 10 (16%) 2 (9%) Thomas Incoom 8 (13%) 20 (87%) Tershawn Wharton came back after missing two games with a toe injury and played over half the snaps (57 percent), more than any lineman other than Derrick Brown (67 percent). Princely Umanmielen came back from getting treated for a back injury, but still played a third of the snaps (20). That's toughness. While he was out, they used both Boogie Basham (10) and Thomas Incoom (eight), at times having the practice squader and the special teamer on the field together. That's trust. Lathan Ransom played a bigger role this week, also playing a third of the snaps. His usage will likely vary week to week depending on matchups. Player Special Teams Snaps Claudin Cherelus 20 (87%) Bam Martin-Scott 17 (74%) Maema Njongmeta 17 (74%) Akayleb Evans 14 (61%) JJ Jansen 9 (39%) Sam Martin 9 (39%) Corey Thornton 8 (35%) Ryan Fitzgerald 7 (30%) Demani Richardson 4 (17%) Nick Samac 3 (13%) Jake Curhan 3 (13%) Yosh Nijman 3 (13%)
  11. Snap Counts Take a look at the snap counts and playtime percentage for the Panthers in Week 7 of the regular season against the Jets. Player Offensive Snaps Special Teams Snaps Austin Corbett 71 (100%) 3 (13%) Brady Christensen 71 (100%) 3 (13%) Ikem Ekwonu 71 (100%) 3 (13%) Taylor Moton 71 (100%) 3 (13%) Cade Mays 71 (100%) Tetairoa McMillan 62 (87%) Xavier Legette 57 (80%) Bryce Young 49 (69%) Tommy Tremble 47 (66%) 3 (13%) Chuba Hubbard 38 (54%) 1 (4%) Rico Dowdle 33 (46%) 2 (9%) Mitchell Evans 31 (44%) 3 (13%) Ja'Tavion Sanders 26 (37%) 12 (52%) Jalen Coker 26 (37%) 1 (4%) Andy Dalton 22 (31%) Brycen Tremayne 16 (23%) 17 (74%) Jimmy Horn 15 (21%) 4 (17%) Trevor Etienne 4 (6%) 7 (30%)
  12. Detroit does every other drive, but I think every other drive with a mix of riding the hot hand is best. that said Rico had 17 touches im ok with that I just dont like moments they picked Chuba.
  13. A good playcaller would just sub and not miss a beat. Both RB are good enough ro do this so with. Just keep running and subbing. Start thr hot hand from. Last week and split the carries throughout. They are pretty similar in quality and ability with pretty minor differences. It's completely on the playcaller since they are so interchangeable. Give them both 20 touches and lots of playaction with Dalton.
  14. He's thrown 1,135 passes in the NFL, but here's him doing something in college as proof that he can do the thing he hasn't been able to do in those 1,135 passes yet.
  15. There isn't one. Panthers had Davis&Foster Dwill&Jstew laugh but CMC&hubbard They never figured it out either. The hot hand?? I don't know, but I feel "rhythm" needs to be factored in. I mean if you are going into the game and want to hit 30 carries, that's an awful lot of carries even with a 15 split. This is still a passing league. Chubba was coming off an injury(calf), before we crown Rico the lead dawg, need a couple more games......BUT it does feel like Rico gets more yards, those constant 12 yard gainers are back-breaking for Ds. Plus Rico has good hands too. I mean contract needs to be included. If Rico keeps beasting, some teams will pay him around 8-12 million per for 3 years. That's a 4th comp if the panther don't resign a similar FA.
  16. Well he made some good contributions and hopefully built up some confidence. GWe have so many guys who could be targets - Cowboys game 10 different players had receptions. And he isn’r the number one option and then you have a quarterback that is challenged to take advantage of them being open. You can argue to what degree but the point is that numbers may vary quite a bit from week to week. I just want him to make the catches he should make and execute his blocks and keep the penalties down. 9/92/TD, 3/40, 2/20, whatever it is that game if he does his job is fine with me.
  17. I remember The Golden Calf of Bristol winning a Heisman, I remember Matt Leinart winning one, Vince Young...among others, why are we trying to justify NFL ineptitude via collegiate accolades, on ONE of the best teams in college that year....??? When you gotta go back to college THREE years into his career that should tell you something.
  18. The man is a stud and a leader. I would hate to see his best years go to waste. We need matching energy from more of our offensive counterparts.
  19. lol nice timing, as I was literally just watching a replay of that play about 2 minutes ago. And I'll be honest, I still don't understand how he got a high ankle sprain from that one. I can see where his toe caught in the ground ever so slightly as he was getting stepped on, but I still don't see how it could have caused a high ankle sprain that would cause him to miss time. So I'll also just say it, if THAT is what causes him to get an injury like that and potentially miss time, it's not bad luck, it's because he's so small and easily injured.
  20. You know, a lot is going to be made of it, but let's also be honest, the Jets defense is a helluva lot better than their offense. That's actually a modestly okay defense we faced. The rest of the Jets, phew.
  21. That experience with him could also be why we'd never trade for him as well.
