  1. Past hour
  2. If Canales has any interest in his job security he has already had conversations with Dan Morgan about upgrading the QB room this year.
  3. Wake me up when we can break the run game blockade that a good defense puts up, by throwing the ball. Get back to two dimensional through our passing game.
  4. We just extended Evero. Not happening
  5. Canales certainly has his faults but what semblance of a passing game he's been able to create at times with Bryce Young is admittedly impressive. I mean Wilks had both Darnold and Mayfield at one point and managed to flat out get his ass handed to him by the Bengals. He's bounced around the league ever since for a reason.
  6. I think this is a mute topic because Canales and Ejiro are not going anywhere unless Ejiro gets that job with the Raiders (which looks like they are leaning offensive minded.) That said, this coming season will be a make it or Break it year for Canales. He will either need to get this team to a winning record or else I can see him out. Both Tomlin and McDermott will both be available because I believe both will take a year off and evaluate teams through out the season.
  7. You mean that game where the defense gave up 91 yards and 6 first downs through penalties to the Saints ( that was 1/4 of the Saints total yards and a 3rd of their total 3rd down conversions). That game where the QB had as many rushing yards ( 49 ) as the top rusher (Rico). That game where the Panthers had a 7 point lead going into the bottom of the 4th and Hubbard couldn't pick up 1 yard on a fourth down turning the ball over on downs. That game where Olave then torches Horn with 4 catches for 63 yards and the tying TD. And that game where Ransom hit Shough on a QB slide making the winning FG a 48 yarder instead of a 63 yarder. Not sure I would say that loss was on the QB.
  8. Oh man that reeks of desperation. who the fug is he going to hire? He can’t even bring back Steve Wilks
  9. Today
  10. No, it's a QB vs. QB thing. Klubnik was surrounded by a ton of talent and a proven elite coach and just didn't get it done. There's a reason why the entire Clemson fanbase is rejoicing in him running out of eligibility. If you can't get it done with all those competitive advantages it's unlikely to happen at a higher level of competitor without them.
  11. Agreed - he had to endure the dumpster fires that were us and the jets for a long time before finding teams that aren't dumpster fires
  12. Is this a UNC vs Clemson thing? I'm not from the area so don't follow and don't care about either school. Everything you said is great but at the end of the day he throws more INT than TD. Full stop for me. Cade Klubnik has every physical trait you could ask for and I've never seen him throw a pass in the NFL so I'd much rather try that route. Would be happy using the Vikings pick swap from AT for him.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Wilks wanted to. Canales has to.
  15. Navy RB/WR Eli Heidenreich (East), Apparently this dude is CMC-lite. I've seen several people around the web comment about him crushing the Shrine practices. We do need a slot.
  16. Also, Senior Bowl is this Saturday. I remember a couple of years ago I watched the Senior or Shrine Bowl, and there was one guy who really stood out that wanted the Panthers to get. We drafted Bryce and Mingo in the first 2 rounds, DJ Johnson in the 3rd, Zavala in the 4th and Jammie Robertson, who I don't think even made the roster. With the last pick of the 5th rd, the Rams took that player I liked. It was Puka. Panthers gonna Panther
  17. Exactly my point. It's still a metric that gets scouts/coaches/brass all giddy. If Styles has plus measurements (he does) and crushes the drills, he might not even last to Dallas at #12.
  18. He threw at a higher percentage his first year of starting than any QB in the league with no OL, no defense, and an OC who was just trying to audition for HC roles. Meanwhile, Cade Klubnik lost ad many games at Clemson as they'd lost the entire decade leading up to him taking a snap. THAT is cheeks.
  19. What? There are 2 years of tape on Howell. He turns the ball over more than he throws TDs. Full stop, no interest in that. I'm sorry I offended you when I called him cheeks, but he is cheeks. Just because someone is not Bryce doesn't mean they aren't also bad.
  20. Endless hook routes and screens that get absolutely blown up? Have Jets fans not suffered enough?
  21. I think we have to prepare at corner. The next game he plays he'll be in his contract year. Idunno what clicked for him but after that dropped INT he's looked like a different player. I'd extend him another 1-2 years now under the assumption we're currently at his floor. He ended up top 15 in tackles, pass breakups, forced fumbles and interceptions. And that's with a bottom tier pass rush. He's also getting old but we mainly play zone so that minimizes that problem. If we don't plan on resigning him, CB sneaks up into the offseason needs. Especially when you also consider Jaycee's injury history. However, I'd take a consistent pass rush over CB anyday.
  22. Apparently Ron Rivera interviewed for the Cardinals opening, lmao
  23. Yeah, glad to see it happen to them. Hope they go nowhere
  24. Brother man right now I put him as a top 10 corner but I think it's homerism to even put him top 5. He's got work to do same as anyone else.
  25. Darnold flashed the physical talent here but let's be real his decision making was also at times absolutely atrocious. That was always the only question with him. He checked every other box. Really he was more a victim of timing here more than anything. Rhule as his coach certainly did him no favors. And the interior OL when he was here was disgusting. For all the cries about the OL Bryce's rookie season it was much worse before. Now we have the highest paid OL in the league and people actually tried to rationalize 54 passing yards in an entire game lmao. All in all Darnold has made significant strides and while certainly coaching matters I think that is much more than just that. Adversity and being dumped and passed over seems to have had just as much if not more of an impact for his present day progression.
  26. Top 3 instead of top 5??? Not sure how much resurging there is to do here. Those Saints games really must have soured you on him. Every dog has his day. Pat Surtain II got manhandled by Amon-Ra St. Brown. The unstoppable Parker Washington also torched him pretty good.
