Great...that means we shouldn't have to pay crazy money to a qb either.

so yea... the um Saints.... how do we beat them this time?

That home game vs New Orleans will linger. The Superdome is a tough place to get a W….especially versus a heated division rival fighting for a playoff spot. I think the formula to win here is not beat ourselves. That means BY9 plays smart and is the calmer/confident Bryce. Same goes for Dave. If Chuba is the healthier hotter hand right now, ride him. Take what NO gives you and don’t force a square peg in a round hole. -

I'm sure they do. I sure as hell would. While I agree with the sentiment you need your guy at QB, my opinion on how to build has shifted. Personally, I think resources need to be spent on the offensive line, a solid WR1 with 2 interchangeable guys that can fill the WR2/3 role, and a guy with glue for hands. RBs can be had in later rounds or UDFA. Behind a solid line, those guys become better than their acquired cost. You can entice a FA QB or draft a QB that fits a system rather than spend years trying to build around one only to find out he isn't capable. -
I thought about that. Certainly could be a factor. Even if it's not a standout runner all the more recent qbs seem to run a little more than the classic pocket passers of 10 + years back

get creative with the offensive and defensive game plan, make adjustments. do what it takes to win. Even if they beat us last time, it's the Saints. -
10 years ago you didn't have rushing QB's like you have today. Jackson, Allen, Hurts, Nix, Williams, etc. Maybe part of the drop off is from QB's running it more often instead of attempting passes. Running QB's have changed the way the game is played and QB's are measured statistically.

Kiss of Death. Like a Zod preseason fullback endorsement -
I think Cleveland fans would revolt if that happened. I saw a stat somewhere about no browns QB throwing 3TD and running for a TD in their rookie season since Otto Graham in the 40s and 50s. He led the Browns to 7 championship wins and 10 consecutive championship games in the 1940s - 1950s I followed Colorado closely the past 2 years (23 and 24 seasons) , dude was always very good in terms of accuracy and ball placement. He still struggles with holding the ball too long and some bone headed turnovers/plays, but he can make some incredible passes when he gets the time. He consistently made stuff happen despite Colorado have an abysmal o line, his scrambling ability is underrated. I think the entire draft poo show, was due to his personality. I think his personality rubbed some people the wrong way and his drop in the draft had nothing to do with talent. He should've gone right after Cam Ward in R1 to maybe the Saints or Raiders, easily. Raiders in particular would look totally different with him instead of Jeanty or Geno

All the pre-draft stuff with his creating his own draft room for a million bucks and the narrative his dad wasn't letting him play for just any team in the NFL. It was a very bad image going in, and then it didn't help that guys like Kiper were just humping his leg day 2 and 3 about he was the best player in the draft and it was a travesty he wasn't drafted yet and he would be the best player in the draft and they would all regret it. It's also perpetuated on social media that he deserved to be starter because of what he did in college over anyone else on the team and on and on. Rage bait for clicks etc.

I was under the impression this is a one year prove it deal. He is in the top 10 in yards but even if he is mid for a contract, I'm not really interested. He is starting to slow down at the end of the year like he did in Dallas. -

I would bet anything the jags, cards, Miami and San fran would like to have those extensions back. I am positive they all view them as a huge mistake that cripples your team for the foreseeable future -

I think the real question is will he accept a short, mid-range contract. As I've said many times in many threads, the 5th year is an option, but Lamar is the only one who played on it. Jones played the final year of his rookie deal. All the other 1st round QBs other than Tua (year 4) got their extensions following year 3 of their rookie deal. Bryce could easily follow suite. Lawrence got a huge extension and hasn't been a franchise QB. I could see his agent pushing for that level of contract just because it's already been given to Lawrence and similar to Purdy and Tua (4 year, not 5). There's a lot of speculation right now obviously, but a couple of these big contracts to not so franchise guys has helped put us in a bad position. -

really feels like both the Saints and Panthers D had the exact same gameplan last meeting. Put it on the opposing QB. Kamara sort of washed at this point. Hope they keep up the Taysom Hill experiment. That doesn't work this year off his injury and it just fugs up the flow of offense. -
Where are people getting this angle from? Everything I've seen and heard from him this year has been very mature and professional response. What am I missing here? I guess it's the same way Cam got the narrative that he was a spoiled brat and didn't care about his teammates.

I have a sinking feeling we will miss the playoffs by one game. -
he's probably bait if stefanski stays. this could define if stefanski has a job.

sanders add 1 rushing td and 120ish more total yards a loss but third nfl game started not bad at all. Time will tell who is the better qb but byoung setting the bar very very low.

You need to come out first two drives pass heavy and get points. This forces them to move 1-2 out of the box on non-passing downs. Dave knows this. -

The saints Alvin Kamara was a key offensive force for the Saints, leading the team in rushing with 83 yards on 22 carries and adding 32 receiving yards on three catches vs the Panthers. He is out for the season. His replacement is a rookie that scored his first TD yesterday. Devin Neal went for 14 rushing attempts for 47 yards and 3 pass completions one TD. I'd say we focus on Shough and hope the defense picks him off a few times. Make his day as hard as possible. -
Some People just dont think hes that good. I dont care who his dad is or who he is as a person. He doesnt have good pocket presence and holds on to the ball way too long. Just like bryce he has no great physical traits. Having a different dad or a different personality isnt going to change these things.
-
Youre wrong but ok. He almost beat the worst team in the NFL. He holds on to the ball way too long, it was ok against the titans. He would get destroyed playing here. I dont like bryce either, I just think the double standards and hypocrisy are crazy. The one game before this one everyone was freaking out about he made one good throw, the other one was a screen play that went for a long td. People like you always very loudly discredit those yards and passes when bryce makes them.
