  1. Past hour
  2. Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
  3. very helpful. I read back in this thread where they might try Jarvis at C--I thought he and Aho had good chemistry, however. Nonetheless, he could expand his value there, and now we have a guy who can play jarvis' spot. Freddie is a pro, no doubt--and as little as I know about the inner workings of strategy and positions, I could tell Burns was burning us at times. I figured he'd retire and I was looking forward to it. FWIW, they have Jarvis listed as a C on the 2025-26 roster.
  4. FO are somthing that you can work to fix..... Jarvis is a worker. No doubt that by the end of the year he would have it around 50% His % is bad because hes going agaist top guys after aho gets the boot and a low number taken.
  5. If Bryce isn't playing in the preseason we've got issues. Can't let the high of last year's end cloud that he still has everything to prove and grow as a player. Not playing him in the preseason, and add in a slow start? I'd start having Tepper's patience and thinking both he and Canales need to get out. I'm higher on Bryce than I should be, but he has to ascend into a no doubt Top 15 QB this year if we're even entertaining keeping him.
  6. I think Coker tweaked a minor injury if I remember correctly. Maybe he still isn't 100% yet?
  7. The secret is if they can stay on the floor. If Ball ever decides to play 60 games, with Bridges, Miller, and potentially improved shooting from Sexton/Knueppel, etc. I see improvement. I personally like the Plumlee acquisition--he plays hard and is pretty durable--good depth, as you say. I also approve of the players they let go, in general. Not a huge fan, but want to be---if their season were not over by December.
  8. Today
  9. For some reason I don't think we will play Bryce a full quarter in any of the preseason games.
  10. I think we'll see what used to be a more traditional set up for QB in pre-season, becase, well, Bryce still needs it. Full first quarter in the first game, half to three quarters in the second, and then a full series in the final game. He really took off at the end of last season, but we have to get him rolling and warmed up before the real season starts. This isn't a time for "let's not get him hurt" worries or "work the hell out of him" hardliners. And we really, really need to have some time to evaluate who is going to be that QB3/practice squad guy and see if he is our backup of the future. Andy Dalton is going to be fine as our QB2 for a year or two maybe, but there needs to be some line of succession there. And let's not talk about how serious things will quickly get if it turns out Bryce's coming out party was the whole sizzle and there's no steak left.
  11. I said it in real time, not playing Bryce Young in preseason the past 2 years like he needed was dumb and likely contributed to his horrific starts every year of his career. If Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc are getting more preseason reps than your bad QB......whatever mental gymnastics you are pulling to explain why Bryce wasn't repping was bad gymnastics.
  12. Yeah i remember him saying something like they were going to revisit their processes to include preseason, as they are always looking for ways to improve. I remember it being something like that.
  13. Jarvy at 2C is literally the best option on the roster for that position. Another season coming where the 2nd biggest need on the team has not been addressed. Just eat 60% of KK's salary and move him.
  14. we didn't add a #1 WR in reality though. We drafted a kid that has never stepped foot on a NFL field and we have never seen him log a single snap yet. It's a lotto ticket. New England adding a Diggs is going to carry way more weight.
  15. I do believe at some point early in the season, Dave acknowledged that maybe some preseason reps would have helped, or at least was contemplating his decision.
  16. There is no chance we are behind the seahawks, giants, patriots, browns, jets and saints That's insane also the vikings have the best offense in the NFL outside of QB
  17. not saying I agree with it but if other teams get better at a higher rate....you could still drop while making some improvements in potential.
  18. after years of studying the huddle and predictions... XL is the most likely to excel this year (because he is the most doubted) Tmac is the most likely to disappoint (because he is the highest praised new guy) and AT will lead the team in targets, receptions and yards just to tick me off.
  19. I'm not so secretly pulling for him! I really think that a year's experience in the nfl and TMac taking the D's emphasis off of him will open up his game tremendously. TMac, XL and Theilen are all starter quality WR's (I didn't say elite)! I would argue that the Panther's have only had 3 starter caliber receivers when Smitty, Moose and Proehl graced our field... until now.
  20. Not sure if anything should be made of it, but Coker noticeably absent. No Renfrow either. Those are 2 guys I would think would be fighting for their place in the pecking order and getting more reps with QB1 to develop timing and feel would seem to be important.
  21. Yeah hopefully Dave learned from last year. He needs to play in every game. I think amount of time would be determined by his success. If he comes out each game and leads them right down the field to score then I'm fine taking him out. My opinion is he needs to leave each game after a successful drive and feeling good.
  22. Add a #1 receiver and 1000yd rusher to the 28th ranked unit, lose nobody of any value, and you get the 31st ranked unit? Makes no sense.
  23. Agreed, same convo as last off-season. They need the reps. BU... do we actually think they will play and will they get a meaningful amount of reps? If BY looks good after just one drive will they pull him the rest of the preseason? I hope not
  24. All the starters need significant reps. As far as injuries things like that are going to happen no matter what. It can happen in camp it can happen in preseason it can happen at any point later in the season. As Panthers fans we know this better than most. But that should not deter us from properly preparing for the season. And let's be real here. It's not like the Panthers have any track record of success to prove they deserve the benefit of the doubt to be considered ahead of the curve on these matters compared to the rest of the league. We haven't had a winning season in going on 8 years.
  25. CLE/CAR - AUG 9 CAR/HOU - AUG 16 PIT/CAR - AUG 22 I believe we have schedule practice(s) with the steelers as well. Not sure if we confirmed another team.
