Production is production. That should trump one substandard physical metric. Plenty of players do well with so-called substandard measurements/tests in a certain area. I remember when we passed on Slater because his arms were to short. All he did was dominate future NFL Ends in college, but the staff couldn't overlook those stubs for arms.
-
I assume this is sarcasm, but it's too subtle to be certain
-
Goerdert's arms are too short for the current staff. It's why they aren't looking at sediq either.

With these FA moves, PFF guys don't know who to mock to us

With his new foot injury, I don’t think Banks goes in the top 50-70…. -
He fell in the draft and we were there to catch him. He was charmin soft on the field. I wanna say teammates called him Wally pipp because he went down with injury and Ismail took over That was truly a wild time in charlotte. Bobby phis, rae, derreck coleman, George shinn. Kerry collins. I know I am missing some stories but it seemed like every day something was happening

We re-signed James Mitchell. Yay.

Trey Lance back to the Chargers on a 1-year deal. Maybe, just maybe we will take the backup QB position a little more serious next offseason than Kenny Pickett. Goerdert's is also a 1-year deal. Again, maybe we can get this right in 12 months.

Tight End: The Need is Bigger than We Think
pantherclaw replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would argue that the need for a GOOD, PRODUCTIVE TE will do more for this offense than another receiver at this point. - Today

Did a fair bit of trading in this one...

I would do unspeakable things for this draft. I think that's 5 contributors next season, and know nothing about TJ Hall, but fine by me.
-
I hope we go LT or DT at 19.
-
I do. I met him and his GF right after he was drafted working on the house he had just purchased. Both were really nice to me and treated me like any other person. I remember thinking that this was a pretty ordinary house for a NFL player, a lot less fancy than I would have expected. Gotta admit I was shocked when that whole thing happened. It was kind of creepy because I still had to work in that neighborhood and drive by that house 6 days a week.

Panthers don't target TEs because they can't get open. Sanders is the only one that can regularly get open and he drops the ball regularly and isn't a great blocker. Tremble is the best TE and he likely wouldn't start for most teams.

Tight End: The Need is Bigger than We Think

Has TukkanSam come in the thread bemoaning that a receiving TE would take away targets and hinder the development of our young WRs yet? -
Tremble is in the last year of his contract. We can keep, cut or trade him. Time to move on from another Rhule guy. Besides Chuba and BC, that will leave only the first round guys during that era. That I can handle because yo are supposed to hit on first rounders.

Former #Saints C Luke Fortner has Signed a 1-Year Deal
Khyber53 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
My only thinking is that perhaps there's a reason New Orleans let him go. I don't know of one, but we've bought a lame horse a time or two. Also, I like getting younger and cheaper on the o-line. We need a good program for continually growing that line. Center is an excellent place to start, especially if you choose ones that can play guard, too. We've got a lot invested in our guards right now, but they can and do end up injured. But hey, if Fortner proves to be the guy, then alrighty! -
Unfortunately that is one area where his abilities are hindered without a doubt. That being said we have had issues with drops. But I don't think we are or were anywhere near the top of the league in that aspect. Overall I would be happy if we added another legit receiving TE but I would be of the opinion that his full potential will be squandered until we have a starting QB with the necessary physical tools. Just a matter of accepting the reality staring back at us.

Most of the best TE come from rn 5 or so.. NOT many good 1st rd TE you can find them later in the draft. Some teams don't value TE If you want a receiving threat just get a WR. This team needs speed and shiftiness not another big body just my view on the position..

CJ Allen has been touted as the ideal MLB in this class. He was one of the few top ILBs not to work out at the Combine so his Pro Day will be interesting to watch.
