  1. Past hour
  2. Two key guys we've tied up a ton of salary cap in dealing with nagging injuries before the season even starts. Same old Panthers.
  3. Sounds like both Gs will be playing who knows about ickey.
  4. Darin Gantt @daringantt · 51m Canales said Yosh Nijman and Brady Christensen have worked at LT in Ikem Ekwonu's absence. Said the goal is for Ekwonu to work Friday in individual to decide if he can play Sunday.
  5. Steve Reed @SteveReedAP · 47m On Hunt, he tweaked his foot today in practice. He left practice for a bit, then returned for a few plays before the Panthers shut him down as a precautionary measure. Team should know more later today on his status. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 47m #Panthers coach Dave Canales on who could replace Ickey Ekwonu — who did not participate in practice today — in Week 1 … as well as what needs to happen for Ekwonu to play Sunday. He has to have “a really good Friday.” Joe Person @josephperson · 49m Canales: The hope is LT Ikem Ekwonu can do a little more by Friday (mentioned hitting bags) to see if he could be available Sunday. G Robert Hunt tweaked his foot during practice. Returned to drills, but then coaches and med. staff decided to hold him out.
  6. I'm sure the Princely and Scourton will get plenty of reps from the start, but I do wonder what they're thinking starting Nick Scott at safety. I get that Ransom is a rookie, but he can't possibly be worse than Nick Scott.
  7. Our S&C staff has to be the worst in the NFL. How are ALL our best players always hurt?
  8. The Carolina Panthers might be down a few hog mollies for their regular-season opener. Wednesday's injury report, the first of the 2025 campaign for the team, included three starting offensive linemen—left tackle Ikem Ekwonu and guards Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt. Ekwonu, who underwent an appendectomy last Sunday, did not participate in practice this afternoon. Head coach Dave Canales was asked what the plan would be at the position if Ekwonu is out for their Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. "Yosh [Nijman] has been taking a lot of reps there," Canales replied. "Then also, Brady [Christensen] has been taking reps at left and right, as always. So we're just gonna kinda take it one day at a time." Here's the Panthers' full injury report from Wednesday: OT Ikem Ekwonu (Illness) | Wednesday: DNP G Damien Lewis (Shoulder/ankle) | Wednesday: Limited CB Damarri Mathis (Knee) | Wednesday: Limited G Robert Hunt (Foot) | Wednesday: Limited https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/09/03/panthers-week-1-injury-updates-ikem-ekwonu-robert-hunt/85958324007/?taid=68b89ea3a9960a0001fc10b5&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
  9. It really seems people get offseason and preseason confused. He arrived at OTAs in bad shape. They put him on a plan and talked about how he was changing his body. He came to camp looking better. I cant figure out why this is difficult to follow.
  10. Today
  11. Seeing DAL end up with Clark as the DL player in the deal, I'd have to think the draft compensation would've been far less if DB was leaving Carolina. Clark is good, but his age and overall impact, DB is a superior player and younger.
  12. This is from months ago when the players first showed up. Coker showed up out of shape and the Panthers put him on a conditioning assignment
  13. I think the black numbers look weird to me because on the black jersey its like you just cut out the red to make the numbers. On the white jersey its like they made them black on purpose, so it doesn't look as good. Maybe they would look better if they were white. I wasn't crazy about the CANES one either, so I'm not upset either way.
  14. I don’t mind it. The ice hog on the sleeve is dope.
  15. While possibly true, having a guy like him means you might be more vulnerable in other areas because you have focus on him. So in theory, it should make your other players better. Of course, that is a theory. Whether it works out in reality is something we will find out this year. Green Bay had a good defense last year, top 10 in several areas. They should, in theory be better this year.
  16. vs the rest of the league, the Bucs have been good on 3rd down the past 2 seasons. It's a relevant fact given the talk was about 3rd down play. I'm not pumping up the Jags. If you are going to talk about what any team did last year and using that to allude what to expect week 1....the details become relevant. A completely healthy team paired w/ Cohen, I think most out there are assuming more firepower to their O than the 2024 stat you referenced suggests. I can't imagine being so sensitive about the Panthers... where you basically can't talk football if our bad team is also going to be mentioned. I think most out their project in the land of bad football teams, we are the slightly worse bad team. Acknowledging football realties isn't hyping or hating. Jags got a better D on paper. Jags got a paper O on paper. Not a huge gap but edge goes to them.
  17. ok well if you want to talk #'s from last season i can tell you without even looking that Trevor Lawerence missed 7 games in 2024 & while on the other hand Bryce young played in 14 games all 4 quarters & they still both had almost the same amount of passing yards in 24 ' .they were both in the lower to below mid 2,000 yards in 24' well Trevor Lawerence actually missed 7 1/2 games in 24' & yes the #2 overall pick in the draft should be considered groundbreaking slash game changer & I did nor even discuss all the other injuries on offense such as their 2 time pro bowl TE Evan Engram etc . my point being the Jags week 1 2025 is a much improved team offensively than the Jags were in 2024...just saying
  18. Yeah he definitely isn't good. Which makes him an Evero NT I guess
