  1. Past hour
  2. Sadly, not a good center draft. Once again, in typical Panthers fashion. we passed on good center drafts to be in a panic on a weak one. I am also going to say that don't be surprised to see some insane, illogical move like we made with Corbett and sign/draft some guy that has very little center experience and attempt to make him a center.
  3. Well, it's an accounting rule that everyone understands. Bonus money can be pro-rated so that it isn't a one year cap nuking event. Also provides the ability to get out in future years with way more miminal cap implications that trying to unwind from a ton of guaranteed money spread out in the same manner.
  4. Mayes can be replaced. He's played well, but hardy an All-Pro type. I'd rather not overpay him.
  5. Would rather keep him. We're going to lose stability on the line at this point. I'm assuming this means Corbett is safe?
  6. Sadiq is basically Kyle Pitts, hard no! This is coming from a guy who wants a TE badly, but he's not the guy and this ain't the year.
  7. You can count on one hand the times we drafted a true center, not OL that's had snaps there or a G/C type. Garcia, Hangartner and Kahlil all worked out well for us, especially Ryan. I've been mocking a C to us for several years now.
  8. Right I've made fun of other teams doing it too much to be hypocritical about it ha
  9. Right..and for speed wr too I'd rather bring in a vet to help immediately than wait and see on a rookie
  10. McCarthy seems to get you exactly what McDermott would give you, a guy who's pretty solid but has missed some golden opportunities to go to super bowls. He does have one though, with arguably one of rogers weakest seasons.
  11. Today
  12. Historically, good centers can be had in round 3 and later. It's not usually a position that a 1st or 2nd round pick has to be spent to draft an effective player. That said, we do usually reserve those 3rd and later picks to draft slow linebackers, incapable tight ends, and secondary with coverage concerns.
  13. This is what I like today. Want to place a larger bet on the interceptions at +210
  14. I like elliss off that list. He was always making plays
  15. Five years is nothing for the Steelers. They've had three coaches since 1969.
  16. Yeah, this is where we get a bit younger on the O-line. I think, though, if there is a great ILB prospect still there in the draft, we grab him and don't look back. Second round take the best center on the board.
  17. Very illuminating rebuttal. Thank you for gracing us with your insights.
  18. I think age is overblown at times because McCarthy could coach another 5+ years. That would put him at the same age as Andy Reid, who could coach another handful of years if he wants to. As long as they remain sharp and committed to the daily grind, then age shouldn’t be an issue. I also think that they can still be patient with the QB situation at McCarthy’s age. Let’s say they start a veteran and draft someone to develop over the next 1-2 years, that would put at McCarthy 63/64, so he could still coach another handful of seasons with that young QB. Ok, one could argue that a young HC and QB could be paired together for their entire NFL careers, but such pairings are rare in the NFL as most HCs don’t last beyond five years. Most QBs go through a number of HCs during their careers. What is important for a young QB is having the right HC to set on them on the right path and McCarthy is as good an option as others.
  19. Do they even know if the cranky old man is going to bless them with another season? He usually doesn't decide until after the summer solstice and he has had opportunity to dwell in darkness and contemplate things over some psychedelic substances.
  20. I'm a little concerned about this year's center draft. The top 4-5 are all undersized. Sub-300 pounds. I know our best center of all-time was too but he was athletic as hell to make up for it. We have an OL of maulers right now. Just not sure how an undersized guy at center would fit into the roster and overall scheme at the moment.
  21. One of the many who claim they were there, i can prove it though
  22. January 24th 2016, The last time I had hope for this franchise. Hard to believe its been a decade. Huddle was poppin in those days
  23. No one called CareBear tonight?!? I'm flabbergasted, simply hornswoggled, downright befuddled!?!
  24. The right answer is neither and drafting Maye with the #1 Pick of the 2024 Draft lmfao we traded away the #1 in a QB LOADED DRAFT
  25. I have no idea why you are so irrationally upset about the notion that going out and spending $150 million free agency dollars on two interior offensive linemen could be construed as a panic response after our #1 pick we traded a fortune for had one of the worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years. It is objectively what transpired. Dan Morgan as of right now is a mixed bag. Some really good some so so some not so good some bad some really bad. You take any rational criticism personally like you are related to him or something. That's something you'll have to figure out for yourself. Anyways. The predicament Dan Morgan finds himself in for this year will define his future as GM. I sincerely hope he navigates it to perfection. But the circumstances are largely of his own creation. And not just in his stint as GM but going back to his time as assistant GM. Which conveniently people like yourself don't like to talk about. That is the reality of the situation. I like how you will carry water for Dan Morgan to the point of getting into random spats with people but make no mention of Bryce Young's glaring limitations and shortcomings as a starting QB yet go out of your way to put the onus of our struggles squarely on Canales. I mean I've been quite critical of Canales too but he sure isn't the only one to blame for our problems.
