My point isn't about being sold on Ickey as a forever LT, it was that he's already more than proven that he's not one of those guys who "has no business of being out there at all" as if he was that, we'd have either replaced him or moved him to guard last year instead of signing 2 of them. So even if they were to decide to try and move him to RT in the future when Moton is gone, you still don't move him there mid-season in the event of a Moton injury and have the backup OT play on the left side, particularly if that's just "to see how he plays on the right side" You keep your LT there, play the backup OT on the right, and then find the best solution in the offseason for moving forward. LT is the 3rd most important position in today's game after QB and DE/Pass Rusher. You play your best OT on the left side unless you have absolutely no option but to play them on the right for whatever reason.

The bigger question is how much would it cost to replace him? If we were to let him, and bring in someone better, would eat up a large chunk of cap space, probably more than if we signed him to a long term contract. And using a draft pick on a replacement means we won't be able to use that pick on another area of concern and while we could get someone better, we might also get someone worse.

I would personally resign him. The question really is, what is his value? List of top average salary per Overthecap.

He said something about Nalo meaning “negative attitudes lose opportunities”. Dunno if it’s also Waimanalo, but I’ve heard him specifically reference the acronym.

Don’t like Nalo at all, don’t like TMac because that’s Tracy McGrady. I know he doesn’t like it, but Tet is what I wish he’d go by. So for me it’s just gonna be McMillan.

WTF are you talking about? Most people are not even sold on Ickey at LT, especially with a new contract comibg up, and why is BC brought back for a year if he can't do what backups do? I have no idea if Ickey can slide to the right but if he doesn't make a big step in pass protection he isn't a lock to stay at LT for us or they would be working on a new contract already. Hell they signed an injury prone CB to a giant contrast but not Ickey. That says a lot.

The early rumors were T-Mac to us, but the staff did a great job subtlely playing that down so then the speculation turned to Jalon Walker. Carolina needs an edge and why not an edge/ilb? My guess is we were haggling w/ the Rams and 49'ers when the Jets took Membou.

Seems like we were gonna take T-Mac if he was available unless someone offered something crazy. I'm guessing the Walker smokescreen was them just guessing on who was going to be the most sought after guy at that spot if T-Mac was gone since he was probably out plan B if T-Mac was gone

I wasn't even crossing my fingers until 30 seconds before our pick, and I think we all know how badly I wanted T-Mac, lol. And I only came around at the end there when the guys on NFL Network using past tense multiple times that they thought we would have gone defense with out pick right before they announced it. The past few weeks of only hearing about defense had me 100% convinced we were going that way, whether it was Walker, Nolan, or a trade back for someone else, I wasn't even hoping for T-Mac once we got on the clock and he was there, I was just ready to be disappointed. I also think that's why it was so exciting for me, because I was so convinced it wasn't even a possibility, that it was a legitimate shock to me. LFG!!!!!!! bhahahahahahaha

Except we very clearly did not want to trade down, because we had the offers to do so and we didn't. The Walker smokescreen was so that teams like the Cowboys, Rams, or 49ers who all apparently wanted T-Mac, all thought we were only thinking defense so they didn't try to trade with the Jets to jump us for T-Mac.

Hell, if we're talking anything with Ramsey, I'd be more curious if they think he has the right skill set to be our Free Safety move. If he can make the Charles Woodson move from elite CB to elite S late in his career, then you might be cooking with some gas.

You still only do it if you don't have a serviceable backup RT and your only good backup OT can for whatever reason only play at LT. Protecting your QB's blindside is far more important than the other side, unless your LT really has no business being out there to begin with (which I don't see the case with Ickey), then it's just not a move I could see any team making mid season due to an injury.

Nalo is derived from Waimānalo, Hawaii, where he is from. There was a quote from Canales in reference to his experience with the Polynesian culture he was involved with coaching in California where he days thir nicknames are derived from last nakes or where they are from. Hence TMac and Nalo. Not Tet

Just depends on the player. Some people are more ambidextrous than others. That's why I was curious if he could make the flip or if it's doa. Gross was a great RT and he was just fine at LT. It's not the 60s anymore

Fair, but even with Ramsey and a healthy Horn for 17 games, we're still not a contender and still might not even be a playoff team anyways. So even if Horn goes down and we had Ramsey, we're still screwed. Which is why if it's make that trade or don't use the cap space, I'd rather roll it over to next offseason to have more cap room anyways. If we're talking about trading for a 26 year old with a big contract, totally different, but not someone who turns 31 this season.
