  1. Past hour
  2. Been more than one example of that too. And the calls that went in for those last 4 plays… that happened once before last year too. I want to say one of those Saints games but it might have been early on with the comeback falling short vs Az. I could swear we have seen that before. You know, thinking about it, and where Canales is in his development, the best thing might be to get a proven guy upstairs and have him call the plays while Canales focuses of getting the other parts of his job working right and being more comfortable where some things become second nature. If we had a good couple of year run like that the OC could probably leave for a promotion and Canales might be in a better position to handle it. I am 50/50 on Canales, maybe 60/40. It seems to me that you lose something not seeing the field as well as you do from upstairs. And you can’t HC from upstairs.
  3. Also, one argument Pearce’s side could make, don't know if would fly, is if the league suspends him before he has his day in court, they would be negatively impacting his ability to hire the best defense attorneys he could hire. (Loss of income) And that a suspension should only be implemented after a guilty verdict or plea. I don’t think that will work.
  4. Knowing that many Panthers fans are confused to his role here, I wonder if he goes back to Stanford or WF in some capacity. Seems more his speed than the NFL.
  5. The league has been very tough on those issues, when their hand has been forced. They tried to sweep Ray Rice under the carpet at first. But even pansy ass Goodell has been tougher than the US legal system on them. He doesn’t really have the presumption of innocence and the constitutional protections to adhere to, nor does he have to contend with juries. And insane, unethical (imo) attorneys. Who don’t seem to be very consistent, let me put it that way. They are easily swayed by dog and pony shows and celebrity lately. I could be surprised but I expect the guy to have a better shot with the justice system than with the league. Better a Falcon in that seat than a Panther, for sure. Blank got hosed by Fontenot and to maybe a lesser degree, Morris. There were some truly boneheaded decisions made by that regime. (bless their hearts).
  6. Superbowl equivalent would be beating Dook in the Final Four to end a legendary coach's career. Oh wait ...
  7. This ^^^^ heck just at the end of the rams game using some of those time outs instead of burning a minute trying to get the call in could have been huge.
  8. Yup unfortunately their own issues of zero defense and no dynamic pass catchers killed em". The Bills havent been great drafting offensive weapons for Allen and it shows.
  9. Yeah there is a lot of slack that if tightened up would possibly get us up a level. Just getting us out of suffering from the obvious oversights, could make a game or difference in the end.
  10. Now I could actually see him being a pretty good QB for one last season in Minnesota, tons of offensive weapons there including the best WR in the NFL.... Letting go of Darnold and Daniel Jones in favor of that bum was some real egg on their faces, if he gets a chance to start they will have also let go of Howell that year as well.
  11. I am not all knowing for sure but I don’t see how Idzik advances professionally without being a legit OC and handling the entirety of the job description. Which he lacks to this point. And can’t get with Bevell in the mix, I don’t believe. He may have to look elsewhere for a path to advancement.
  12. Well from a game management and play calling perspective it has been painfully obvious Cannales wasn't able to do both at an even average level. It was a least 4-6 times this season at the end of halves or games we would have 3 time outs and not use any after short gains and end up running out of time to even run more plays because they burned off 20 seconds on a three yard play didnt call timeout.
  13. Wouldn't be mad about it. I do hope we spend a day 3 pick on a QB and the ceiling is higher than Plummer.
  14. Oh I know you’re not defending him, an I’m not even talking about league or legal punishments. But DV and hitting a police officer with his car, are the type of crimes that regardless of NFL or legal punishments, I think it’s the type of thing that would keep teams from ever signing him in the future
  15. That's the first thing I think of when I see Bevell's name.....kinda like Chris Webber and timeouts. I thought he was a decent OC previously and he was up for the Jets OC. Seeing who they went with instead of Bevell is concerning. He, Dave and Dan go way back to Seattle days so there's alignment there, as we know this franchise embodies. Looking back at Idzik, I do wonder if maybe 2026 is a year where he maybe transitions out from under Dave's wing. I thought they went farther back than 2019. Not that seven years is nothing in coaching, but maybe Dan and Dave want Bevell or someone with more expreience at Dave's side as we begin to make our move from cellar dwellers to NFC royalty.
  16. Wise move: yeah. And unexpected. It was hard to see how to navigate the situation to where If they feel like Canales should be relieved of the play calling burden they have a legit person to give it to. Because to this point, they didn’t. And they did it without firing Idzik. Who is from a football family background and probably has potential - he just isn’t there yet for the play calling trust. Both the HC and the OC can lean on this man, who has been an interim HC twice himself and a SB OC. It checks a lot of boxes on the surface. And another set of qualified eyes, with an unbiased outside perspective, evaluating the QB situation seems like a good thing as well.
  17. I seem to recall Seahawks fans back in the day talking about this guy like we used to talk about Mike Shula. Not sure what to think of this
  18. Today
  19. To be comforted by this hire, his position title needs to be Dude who calls offensive plays instead of Dave Canales. If someone could confirm that is written on his office door I will sleep better.
  20. Should've been: Duren and Moose: 2 each (Duren for starting it, Moose for going crazy after lol) Bridges: 3 (1 for defending Moose, 2 for escalating further with Stew) Stewart: 10 (fug that dude, came off the bench, long history already, NBA should've sent a message with double digit games) Oh well, I think we can weather the storm for 4 games. A win tonight would be huge as the next couple after are tough, vs Houston and Cleveland. Last game against the Wizards should be a win even short handed. Then back to full strength and keep the train rolling. Still thinking we get a 7 or 8 seed and win 1 of a potential 2 in the play-ins to make the real playoffs. 6 seed and skipping the play-in entirely is a tough ask. But I do think we are better than Magic, Heat, Hawks and can pass 2 of them before the end of the regular season.
  21. Hmmm... Well, one of them consistently got dumb penalties that you never see any other receiver commit like offensive offsides on 4th down. One of them consistently would just run routes out of bounds for no reason. XL's only saving grace is that he has been a solid blocker at WR for us There is a reason XL often didn't get the ball thrown to him - he made some of the dumbest mistakes I have ever seen from a receiver... Even receivers that have zilcho talent (Mingo, Terrace Marshall, and all of our other WR draft busts) didn't make mistakes this dumb. It is bad enough when you aren't helping your team because you can't get open; it is much worse when you are so bad and dumb that you are actively hurting your team. I honestly don't think there is any fixing XL. The dude is just an idiot and lacks any kind of awareness and common sense on and off the football field
  22. Game planning and being the eyes from the box during the game. it's all I got.
  23. I mean of course the NBA does this. They have no integrity and quite honestly don’t care. Duren is important to the #1 team in the east…let’s go easy on him for no viable reason
  24. They like to reward players after the fact for intangible contributions. Look at Adam Thielen. Its stupid. Its a business and I think its really dumb and wasteful to hand out contracts based on how cool they are in the locker room or how much we appreciated what they did 2 years ago for 1 game.
  25. What a bunch of B ull S hit. That dumb ass bastard Duran should’ve gotten atleast 4 as well. Not surprised
  26. He's a good OC. Hopefully he brings some competence to Canales playbook.
