Stats aside, I know it's hard to believe, but just pure eye ball test Anthony Richardson at Florida looked like Drew Brees compared to Josh Allen at Wyoming. Like I said, it's honestly impossible to talk about Allen's inaccuracy at Wyoming without sounding like you're talking in massive hyperbole. Bruh couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. LOL

If we're still flailing and need a QB when Arch Manning comes out in the draft, well... Because Tepper is all about hype trains and to get a hype train with the last name "Manning"? Bruh is gonna be like, "I want that guy and I'm willing to trade... The absolute cherry on top of that dog poo sundae would us be swinging the trade and then the Mannings to be like "Yeah, remember Eli to the Chargers? Same thing." LOL

No, he had nothing close to that profile even remotely. He was one of the most inaccurate passers I have ever seen as a "top prospect." That literally directly translated. Hurts was a 65+% career passer. Jackson was closer at 57% versus the 54.7% but the difference to the eye was REALLY obvious in the passing game. You can check the record, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with drafting AR. Richardson currently has worse stats than Jamarcus Russell through the equivalent amount of games. Think about that.

The Panthers have an effort problem
LinvilleGorge replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
You said you were talking about how fans and media perceive the preseason so that's what I was talking about but now you're saying that you're talking about how it's viewed from within the organization? I mean, okay. But you could've just started there and then there would've been no misinterpretation. -

Again, I am not talking about the coaching strategy for preseason. I am talking about the way media and fans portray or view preseason results. You quoted my post bruv and you have now twice misinterpreted what I meant. I get it, you are disappointed after last week's showing. But know this, Dave Canales and Dan Morgan are not concerned with your glimmer of hope. Also, I heard and viewed them looking really good in the joint practice. I am disappointed that it didn't translate to Saturday, but I will never truly freak out about this team until they look bad into week 3 or 4 of the regular season. -
you know who has had a pretty awesome preseason has been ex panthers qb kyle allen, would be total panthers for the lions to end up having to play him due to injury and him lighting it up for them all year.

I like Ekbugka probably will be eventually, dont know about this year with the Bucs new Offensive Cordinator Grizzard lol (he was a year behind me in high school) needless to say I seriously question them calling him an offensive wizard lol.

Preseason Week 3 - vs. Pittsburgh (practice tweets, discussion, etc)
Shotgun replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm fine with "not showing our hand" in preseason as long as we don't come out looking flat week one. If that happens again then Canales needs to be on the hottest of seats. -
Yeah his transformation makes me understand the gamble, but just not with a top 10 pick. On a side note I am curious about how far along Trey Lance has come as a passer. He had some great physical tools and has sat for years now.

Yep. Honestly, Josh Allen is the most obvious bust I've ever seen in college. The strides he made as a passer I would've previously said was impossible. It's difficult to describe how wildly inaccurate Allen was in college without coming across as hyperbole. He had never completed 60% of his passes before the NFL. Not at Wyoming, not in junior college at Reedley, not even in HS. This was Josh Allen in college against decent competition Just listen to that exasperated "wow..." from the announcer. Bruh is a professional college football commentator and can barely comprehend the level of trash he's watching. LOL For that guy to turn into a legit MVP NFL QB absolutely boggles the mind.

REPORT: Panthers interested in Patriots starting safety

Why? Heβs done literally nothing. He may be the most overrated JAG in recent memory. I donβt get the love affair for this guy. -
No one wants to miss on the next Josh Allen. The truth is Allen is clearly an outlier...

If I had a dime every time Daniel Jones found his way to starting an NFL game again...

I hear what you are saying, but he honestly had a similar profile to Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson entering the draft. I think he has all the talent to be great; it's just a matter if he can stay healthy and learn to read defenses. He also really had nobody to throw to at WR when he was on the field. I still wanted CJ number 1 and had Bryce and AR as a distant 2 and 3. AR was definitely a pick that when you made it, you sit him at least year 1 (like the Giants are going to do with Dart). Colts rushed him out there and have paid the price for it so far.

Preseason Week 3 - vs. Pittsburgh (practice tweets, discussion, etc)
Tr3ach replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it only helps. They are still just calling plays from the same playbook and you aren't showing wrinkles or tendencies in preseason. They dont watch tape of the other team ahead of time so there is really no chess to it. I dont think it hurts in any way. -

This honestly makes no sense. If youβre gonna have a week where the real play callers are calling plays, why not make it the week when 1st string plays the most? -
Interesting and fair point. I think the Bears also have to go all-out with their playcalling in the preseason because they have a new OC with a completely new playbook. Hard to be vanilla in your playcalling then expect your team to know every play week 1 when they only had an offseason to learn the playbook

Just wanted to mention that the Bears were not doing vanilla playcalling. It was very reminiscent to Mike McDaniels' first season in Miami where he showed his hand and then in year two everything seemed to come to a halt. It's too early to make the same determination for Ben Johnson's future, but it was very apparent that he was treating preseason like the regular season. Some fans like that mentality for understandable reasons. However, one of the risks to that is exposing your tendencies to the rest of the league at the beginning. Last season was to see if Bryce could be the guy. At the beginning, it looked like the damage from his rookie season had done him in. Mid-way through, he's back and looking good. At the end, he's still ascending. This season, the focus is on rebuilding the defense while developing our young weapons. Winning is always the #1 desire, but I don't know if we're deep enough on both sides of the ball yet to demand excellence yet. 2026 we'll have cap space, some expiring contracts to make decisions on, and knowledge of whether or not there's going to need to be a change at QB.
