Andy Dalton CARQuarterback#14 ESPN’s David Newton reports the Panthers “plan” to move on from Andy Dalton Newton adds “even if it means releasing Dalton and leaving $3.83 million in dead cap money.” Things really crashed down hard from the Andy Dalton Combine “getting calls” experience. Dalton, who turns 39 in October, likely proved that he just wasn’t a good enough backup last year in his start against the Bills to keep paying a premium on. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Panthers cut him.

I watched some of it. Through the Miami game. Took a break. If you understand that they are going to gloss over why we were 1-3 and down 17-0 and just go with it, isn’t so bad.

Yeah. The writing was on the wall. He was a Field’s supporter that wasn’t too thrilled about going through a year with another rookie QB, to start with. And said so in so many words. That won’t endear you to the rookie QB or the team. And they were drafting his replacements right and left.

My thinking is with how Dan loves measurables Edwards will be the MLB we target and i think we might trade for Rashan Gary or wait until he gets released. To me he seems like an Edge that Evaro would covert a big edge setter that can get after the QB

You've gotta be kidding. He's had four 1,100+ yard seasons (three with us) and two more that were basically 900 yarders, snagged 41 touchdowns in his career so far (with lousy QBs for most of his tenure). Add in that he has been on a rapidly cycling carousel of coaches, offensive coordinators and losing teams and maybe he gets a pass. Let's see how he does in Buffalo. Heck, I wish we'd have swung harder to get him back here, as WR2 or slot receiver. Great culture guy.

I think so too. I believe I used the word ‘impact’. I meant it in purest sense. Not upgrade, contribute to, but make an impact. That is what we need, and it is okay if it is short term.
