  1. Past hour
  2. IIRC, he is the only NFL player to ever do so. Or at least he was.
  3. Yeah, from a team building perspective, he is a very minor factor in the future plans. From a human perspective, you certainly hope he eventually gets his career started, even if it isn't with us.
  4. Yeah they had some great topics and questions for him to address, but every one of them just let Steve say what he wanted to, even if it made zero sense. No follow-up. No contradiction. Nothing. Made for a frustrating watch. And unfortunately for them, if they don't condemn his actions, it makes them look indifferent to them, or even supportive in some instances. Not a good look.
  5. I am puling hard for him to be the back he once was but a twice-torn ACL is a tough thing to bounce back from, and he may not ever have the same explosiveness.
  6. I know teams have been selling out to stop the run, but Ricos kind of fallen off a cliff.. not sure if hes hurt or just worn down but even when theres a hole he doesnt look anything like he did those few weeks prior.
  7. nah, that's basically saying people can't call a spade a spade. Which is crazy. 89 is not a good dude. He might have done a couple good things but it will never erase what he has proven to be in front of the world. I tell my kid all the time not to view celebrity athletes as anything but people that play a sport well. Lot of garbage humans play on Sunday. And you have no clue who the good guys actually are. PR in today's world is also powerful. There was a window when Deshawn Watson checked every good guy box that could ever existed from the public's perspective.
  8. Some folks say it's because teams are playing more shell defenses preventing more longer passes. The analytics folks would rather you pass for 7 years every down. As you state, the crop of QBs is mixed as far as quality. I think when you put it all together, it's a recipe for less passing yards.
  9. I got this same feeling. His body language and his face didn't say happy, even when he was trying to smile and joke around.
  10. I'm also worried about the long time off of football. In his limited snaps with the team, he had some spark. I'd love for him to pan out, but I'm also not pretending it's a certainty one way or another. He'll have next spring to show that he belongs or not. He's 22, 23 in July. He's still a kid. I think you have to give him a shot this spring in camp. Maybe he makes the roster, maybe he doesn't. He's such a nice kid, I'm rooting for him.
  11. Perfect! or Cioppino! Sour dough bread. Take-out Chinese would also be really appropriate considering that Chinatown is such a big part of the whole San Fran vibe.
  12. Chuba's problem for the games he looked bad is that he looked hesitant and didn't know where to run. He actually seemed to be thinking less and just running Sunday, which helped.
  13. I think one of them (maybe Rozeboom) is the green dot responsibility and calling our plays, so they can't come out. ATL is a tougher matchup also because they have big bodied receivers (I think that is why Smith-Wade rode the bench a lot of the game). My bigger problem was Evero reverting back to his old self only calling the same cover 3 drop the entire 1st half. Played way too far back off the line of scrimmage and ATL just kept sneaking a curl route (usually London) in under a corner/go route and it was always open. Evero finally changed up the scheme in the 2nd half and the D actually looked somewhat competent (also helped Penix got hurt)
  14. If we get anything at all from him at this point it would be a positive. He will have not really played in 2+ years, if/when he is cleared to return.
  15. I feel like TD is the rare exception to someone suffering 3 ACL injuries and somehow coming back to be a dominant player for years afterwards. Probably not looking good for Brooks being a contributor. ACL injuries for a RB, where you constantly have to plant and be a 1-cut RB, makes it even more unlikely
  16. No, I definitely consider all of what you’re saying. But that final drive they had, we KNEW they were passing. And I believe we kept Cherelus and Rozeboom out there. I agree, once Wallace is back healthy, I would love to see him and Ransom out there as the subs in a big nickel, but I know with the injuries we were a little hamstrung. But yeah, if we KNOW they have to pass, I see no reason Cherelus should be out there.
  17. Wtf are you even talking about? So because I don't buy his bullshit and am calling him on it, I must be a horrible person?
  18. Didn't see who all was out there on ATL's last minute drive for the tying FG, but you can't just throw all safeties and corners out there in the back 7 when ATL is running the ball for like 8 yards a carry against us... And you still want a LB or 2 out there in case ATL runs a screen or sneaks a run. Unfortunately for us, Wallace + Ransom being hurt didn't let us go with our usual Big Nickel package with 3 corners, 3 safeties, and Wallace in the back 7
  19. He was sharper. It wasn’t all him with the YAC but he wasn’t impeding that like he usually does. If the ball to Legette wasn’t in the end zone, there was a lot of YAC there. Right in stride. At this point my thing is, can he do it when it isn’t Atlanta? He has a horseshoe up his butt with them lately.
  20. I have zero expectations with Brooks taking a productive snap with any NFL team. No 2 operations are the same and everyone heals differently. TD is the incredible exception, not rule. I hope Brooks turns in to gold for us, but it’s a very slim chance. With how Dowdle is sacrificing his body, I wonder how much Dowdle there will be left after this season.
  21. Weren't we saying passing was way down last year too and it trended waaay up the last 8ish games? I feel like this came up in discussions last year too, where some QBs (Burrows comes to mind) exploded from week 10 onward. Burrows was like 250/game until week 10 and then 330/game the rest of the way. I feel like someone pointed out a few other players with similar stats (Josh Allen and Mahomes both follow the trend it seems) I think offenses get more film on what defenses are doing and start to exploit them.
  22. Not feeling great about this matchup defensively and how we stop CMC and Kittle in the pass defense
  23. I thought he hit his ceiling in the Dallas game. Because it was a 4 quarter effort not the more typical suck and then redeem yourself just enough with a decent half or quarter. I think Sunday looked more like his ceiling but the idea is execute what you asked to do without fuging it up. If they need you to make a play, you make the play. Do it for 60 minutes. There have been games Canales needed to hide him as well, and hope we could get through them playing that way.
  24. While the Bucs schedule is definitely easier than ours, they have definitely been reeling of late and Baker seems to have come back down to Earth a bit (largely in part of the injuries). I'll be shocked if they beat the Rams and could see them losing to a Cardinals team I think is better than their record shows. Dolphins game could be a tricky one for them also - they have played pretty well at home. But yeah, they will likely have the division record advantage over us if we split with them because they likely beat NO and ATL. I think we have to get to 10 wins to have any chance of making the playoffs - best chance of doing that is winning NO and SF and then either sweeping Tampa or beating the Seahawks + splitting with Tampa. Now that I look at it, I think our only chance really is sweeping Tampa. That home loss to NO badly hurt our playoff chances...
