Simplify it then, let the refs on the field make the calls but give an extra in booth official able to overturn or get in an officials ear based on what he sees from the booth. This isnt 1930, we have technology that allows live conversations without slowing the game and with just that much effort you'll have better officiating without their bullshit union.

Drafting Chris Jones would have been fantastic there. Butler was just the wrong pick. With Thompson the good players that were taken shortly after were guard and DT. Same logic would say they weren't good options.

You could listen to the coach at a smoke puffing event. Or watch the o-line coach working out every top tackle on pro day. Things may not fall that way on night one, but we're in the tackle market.

The contradiction is that if you dont believe in drafting for depth means you don't believe in drafting best player which means you are drafting for need only. I assume hes just speaking in generalities because they aren't going give away their thinking now.

I trust the staff if they think BPA boosts the team more than an OT who will be sitting for year anyway. Also you guys should have more faith in the coaching. This line has battled a ton of adversity and still looked competent. Who's to say we don't just take an OT in the 2nd or 3rd round and we get the same result as if we took one in the first? The difference being we got an impact player in the first round.
